the meds aren't working [NEW MIXSET]

Ok, so this is a mix I did back on the 8th, so that would've been... the Thursday before last.

Originally - I set out to re-mix together all the tracks that I've done from the last three mixsets ("Burned Out" "Terror & War" & Still Reeling") and condense them down into a singluar 2hr block. Because of the somewhat 'retrospective' nature of the whole deal, I decided that I was going to use a lot of the old samples I compiled for previous mixes (which is why you'll hear a few bits for like "Blue Velvet" & "Igby Goes Down" here and there during the mix).

So basically I decided to do the same thing James Lavelle did when he released "Do Androids Dream of Electric Beats?" and then broadcasted an edited version on BBC radio.

But - I was kind of ...well basically - it was boring to simply re-use all of the same tracks I had before, especially as I associate a fair sum of them to back during the time I lived in DC. So I decided to add some 'new' tracks.

Then I reached another problem... my 2hr 'set' which I was - essentially - condensing down from a total of 3-4hrs was now back up to ~3.5 hours. So I then had to edit down my overall tracklisting again.... as I really prefer to post up a mixset that would work on an actual cd (if that makes any sense).

So, I ended up with a live set where you get a fair share of new tracks peppered witih some others that have been on previous mixes.

It's also funny... as this mix was done when I was fuckoff sick, like having to take steroids and whatnot - and the first mix, "burned out" was done in basically the same conditions -> being crazy sick, affected by all the med's... and so forth

Let me know what you think about the mix... I think I might end up redo-ing the whole thing, as I kind of want this to sound as "professional" as possible. I would've posted this earlier, but I've been crazy busy for the past week or so...

Here's the tracklisting:
Kid Alex - My Conversation (Kaos Rmx)
the Cure - Fire in Cairo (Digitalism Re-Edit)
Boys Noize - Volta 82 (Frank Martiniq Rmx)
Elite Force - Reclaim The Airwaves (PMT Remix)
Stir Fry - Breakin' on the Streets (False Prophet Mix)
Bassbin Twins - the Dogs
10 Rapid - New Kicks
Peaches - Boys Wanna Be Her (T.S. Brooklin Fire ReTouch)
Mantrix - Smack My Beat Up (Original Mix)
Kissy Sell Out - Keanu Reeves (Grunge Version)
Metric, Rogers - This is Hip Hop (Original Mix)
Koma & Bones - Red Hot Pussy Liquor (Original Mix)
Digitalism - Idealistic (JtL slight edit)
10 Rapid - Rocksta
Daft Punk - Technologic (Vitalic Remix)
Adam Sky - Ape-X
Surikin - Ghetto Obsession 2006

again, let me know what you think... as I want everything to sound as close to perfect as possible, and honestly - some parts (almost) make me kringe, and I don't know if it's because I did the mixing & I'm being over-critical - or if some of the transitions actually sound that bad!

I uploaded all the tracks separated, instead of the usual - one file, full mix b/c iTunes seems to be pretty good now with the "gapless album" option. You don't have to set the 'crossfade playback' for mixsets anymore, and there's no longer any annoying 'pauses' between tracks anymore on iPods

change the "XX" to "tt"

oh, and it's eventually going to be a component of an 'art box' that I'm making, here's a photo:
