Wi-fi Music Gets Serious...
...but at a grand sterling a piece I don't think I will be jumping on the bandwagon just yet.

Re: Wi-fi Music Gets Serious...
The Squeezebox 3 is phenomenal piece of kit, and, after 3rd party modifications able to be done by a company called Red Wine Audio, it sits firmly in audiophile territory; yet is a fraction of the cost of the Transporter. Still not quite priced for the "mainstream."

Re: Wi-fi Music Gets Serious...
I have the Slim Devices Squeezebox vol.1 and it's a pretty decent tool for what it does. There are other devices that do the same thing now but for the money, it's easy to set up and fairly reliable. I did have some networking issues but those were user errors, not the fault of the software/hardware.
this hi-fi device sounds like a skam though. what audiophile compresses their music in mp3 format? |
Re: Wi-fi Music Gets Serious...
yeah i read about the squeezebox3 about 4 months ago in at RegHardware. nice kit. they also reviewed a similar device about 6 weeks later, the Sonos ZonePlayer ZP80. Theyve recently reviewed the Transporter as well too. Looks a bit overpriced...
This unit, the Hermstedt Hifidelio impressed me more... |
Re: Wi-fi Music Gets Serious...
Hmm, Olive Media based out of San Francisco has a unit that's aesthetically identical to the one you've posted Stimpee.
http://www.stereophile.com/mediaservers/406olive/ I've actually been eyeing this bugger since April. Can't bring myself to place an order quite yet though! |
