alice in ultraworld
 

is a sleeper lp from amorphous androgynous and I'm wondering if its any good. I'd trust you people's tastes over anyone in the world, so...

any thoughts?

is it worth it beyond the usual fan's compulsion for completion?

yes - it's definitely a great album, and worth the purchase.

well... maybe not a 'great' album, but definitely very good. Although, I might be biased, as I bought three different versions of "the Isness" (original tracklist, final tracklist, and the Otherness companion disc)

but "High & Dry", "The Prophet", "Yes My Brother" and "The World Is Full Of Plankton" are all quite good songs

It's just a shame they never did any EP's off of this album, you can totally imagine some of the songs could be taken off in a lot of different directions - know what I mean?

Like Joe said.. It's a really well-done follow up to The Isness, and also a great album in its own right. If you've heard and enjoyed Isness, you should feel immediately at home with it.. but if that album gave you the shits and left you yearning for the Dead Cities days, I would approach with hesitation.

it's practically like "the otherness" in the sense that they reinterpreted their songs in other, different ways (there are some "remixes" from the isness on it). as bargo said: if you liked the isness? -> get it.
