Halflist

Compile your halflist, the year is half over, what are the albums you've enjoyed the most.

No need for order, by late September we'll already be compiling our year ends anyway.

Belong - October Language (by far the most undiscovered treasure of the year, Whet an album!! Not for everyone, but especially for showgaze fans)

Junior Boys - So This is Goodbye (my comments are in the thread about this one)

Mogwai - Mr. Beast (at the begining this was the least well recieved Mogwai album by my ears, but after picking out exactly half of the album's content as highs for the band, the rest gradually grew on me. Not their best, I really long for the old days of sombre epics like 'Burn Girl Prom Queen' but accept the new direction, especially as it's given us 'Travle is Dangerous' and 'Folk Death 95')

Scott Walker - The Drift (quite possibly the darkest album of all time and oh how we are better for it that he's still making them in his 60's. The man shows more inspiration and originality than former heros that have recycled ideas to the point of being hacks, Aphex and Trent come to mind)

TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain (not much to say yet, but I like it, the 'Bowie on top form' Province is one of my favorites of the year.

Clark - EPPhoenix - It's Never Been Like That (I always get worried when Mr. Clark comes out with something new, as though I have no faith in the new sounds he seems determined to explore. But alas surprise he still has the same arsenal of tricks to unleash on us, and I for one am the most happy for it).

Hrrmmphhffff:

Walkmen - A Hundred Miles Off
Stereolab - Fab Four Suture
Calexico - Garden Ruin

Reallly want to hear the new Growing - Color Wheel and Envy

i've hardly bought any new albums this year (been busy/broke/occupied with UW tunes!), but the couple i have purchased are catchy, and they're in my top ten by default!;) :
Lostep: "Because We Can"
