2 of the lemonworld tracks...

first track:
Any opinions on "Peggy Sussed" (Main Final Mix)" as heard on 5-13-06 during the Live from lemonworld broadcast? I thought the version on "LovelyBorken Thing" was agressive and amazing, made cooler by the boys shouting "halleluiah" over it when performed live, but this mix is a delight! it's been in heavy rotation for me. Other fans?

And the other reason for this thread:
"Something Ambient (To Heal and Restore)" - is just so uplifting! Does anyone know where the vocal sample comes from? It reminds me a lot of something Orbital used during their final performance with John Peel...a sort of supportive message of farewell. Is the music accompanying the vocal also by U/W or from a separate source? It differs from the initial soundscape, but mixes in nicely.

This mix of PS was amazing yeah;)
I think that best of this is that it was live mix by DP...

And yes that 2 nd tune was great also...

I really like the Peggy Sussed remix, but I still don't understand why it's been labeled (Main Final Mix)?

Just guessing, but maybe it was labelled "main final mix" to differentiate it from the other mix that they did earlier in the show? Don't know whether this is the "official" title or not.

actually its main mix final, its labelled wrong. meaning the main mix of the song and the final version of that mix.

well, i guess this is just a good a place to make
these comments as any...

i dont really have much to say on why they name
the tracks as they do..

however, i wanted to make a note that some of
these tracks sound much better than when they
have played them live....(is it just the studio
enviroment?)..

how came they don't play these versions when
they are live in concert? or do they?

i really like the jams of the other tracks, like
pearls girl, and mmm skyscraper...maybe they
will use these newer versions in the future..

My favourite of this show is the jam version of Mo Move... The album version is still great (especially the lyrics), but here the bass drum really stands out and the percussion in the last half is just wonderful.
I wonder if this is the version which should have been on AHDO as suggested by the wrong labeled promo?

"Should have" is a strong term! To each their own on which version of Mo Move is best. For me, the live versions (including this one) are too drawn out and chilled. The AHDO, apart from having great (and simple by UW standards!) lyrics, is banging. i remember the first play of that LP, and how thrilled i was to hear the stop time about 2/3 in followed by the dropped beat.... just a "YEEAAAAHH!!" moment!

With respect to negative1's comments about new tracks live versus released, i agree completely about "peggy sussed", anyway. The LBT version is great, but like i said, this Main mix Final version makes a great thing better! Other recent tracks performed live like "JAL to Tokyo" and "Back in the Fears" in particular are developing from their riverrun counterparts. That's probably just natural to the improvisation process...things that work subsequently get repeated :)

Oh, and no matter when "Yard Beat" get's played, it always spices up the classics! They have been playing this in association with Pearls Girl at concerts, and now with Push Upstairs...it's a rocking transition track!

Hmm.

I've not heard the latest Lemonworld broadcast and whilst I am interested to hear the new Peggy Sussed and don't doubt it'll be good, I am fairly concerned about the idea that the RiverRun projects are essentially 'demo' versions. I'll reserve judgement until we see if/when this new version materialises for a new release. A fiver for a 25 minute mp3 of unfinished tracks that will be released in n number of months time properly doesn't sound as appealing as it did previously.

Underworld give us fans plenty for free and to suggest they're fleecing us by releasing "demo" versions as RiverRun projects is out of line. Where else have these tracks appeared that we've had to pay for? In fact, for those paying for all 3 RR ep's, a 4th remix ep will be given for free!

I don't see the diff. mixes as Demo mixes at all and in fact, i wouldn't be surprised if the Peggy Sussed (Main Mix Final) is part of the free "remix" ep to be given away to RRx3 buyers. Sidenote about the title of the mix on Peggy Sussed, it's obvious to me that this name is coming from a CDR UW have sent to the label and not the final name of the mix. "Final" will not be in the name of the mix when the track does uh, finally come out.

Anyway, I'd gladly pay for as many tracks as UW want to sell me because they're evolving before our eyes in a way i didn't think possible. If you're a fan of other bands of their size, you know how rare it is to be handed live sets and jams for free with some regularity. New Order, for example, my other musical love, don't give their fans shit, play the same exact sets and basically relenquish control of their product despite their history of doing the opposite. Long story short, there's never anyone making you buy any product. There's hardly a song recorded that you can't get for free from any artist. I don't feel i'm being fleeced or deceived at all and personally can't wait to shell out my 7USD for the next RR project.
