a friend of mine is opening for RJD2

and I can't F_CKING GO! my friend is a break dancer and he has a 'crew' and one of them also spins

it's on this Thursday, back home in Des Moines, Iowa

yes... Des Moines, Iowa

and I go back to DC tomorrow morning, so I won't be able to see either of them!

how crazy is that?

That sucks. RJD2 is much better live than his albums.

and apparently its stupid hot in summer too:eek:

His albums, maybe, but his live shows when he has four turntables going are awesome fun. I guess his original music = meh, mixing = killer.

yes, that's very true

and now it seems we're completely skipping Springtime...

but good news, my family convinced me to stay for a bit longer (I came home for Easter) so I might be able to go!

i like his original music personally. his newer of the 2 albumns is pretty solid for my tastes from to back :D

also his work with say soul position is super duper... the two soul position albumns i have are fantasimal

Well, to be honest:

I didn't hear his second LP.

I hated the first Soul Position LP, mainly because of the rapping, not the music.

His remix of Wylin' Out is one of the greatest things ever.

Re: a friend of mine is opening for RJD2

nah man, rjd2 isn't on anything original, he's got a few cuts with flavor here and there, but when it comes to hip-hop/downtempo beats I much prefer:

Dabrye
Shadow
Krush
Anti-Pop (Earl Blaize pruducing)
Beans
Tricky
Cannibal Ox (El-P producing)
Dizzee Rascal
Wiley
Kool Keith (Automator or Kut Master Kurt producing)

I need something original and/or progressive na mean?

Dead Ringers was garbage bag...
