FLAC...how do I freakin' use it?
Okay...so I bought a few tracks in FLAC format. How the hell do I use them? None of my music players seem to recognize them. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but this is my first experience with these damn things. Ideally, I'd like to be able to listen to them and create mp3 copies to put on my iPod.
Thanks! |
Re: FLAC...how do I freakin' use it?
you need a plug-in (search on google for flac plug-ins....i think winamp and media player have appropriate plug-ins).

And... if you have a mac (running with OSX 10.4 minimum), there's also a very nice freeware called Max, which can convert quite everything into everything (including flac to mp3)

i'm on a mac:
i use a freeware called xACT to convert. if you want an app just to play it, there is MALTX (MacAmp lite) which is also freeware) |
Re: FLAC...how do I freakin' use it?
Any suggestions of a program to use for a PC? I'm using winamp now, but would rather not. Also does anyone have a suggestion for a program to burn FLAC files to a CD? I'd rather not have to purchase something but if i have to I want it to be quality. Thanks!

Re: FLAC...how do I freakin' use it?
there's a setting in winamp that lets you output the
file -> .WAV , then you can burn it to CD. i think i'm using NERO which can burn FLAC to cd. later -1 |
Re: FLAC...how do I freakin' use it?
all the flac tools are free. if you need to decode to WAV or AIFF then so be it.
