Tiga-SeXXXor
Got this album this week... and i cannot stop dancing to it.
The name of the album cannot be more accurate.. you gotta listen to this is completely HOT and sexy... im not going to say electroc____ because i hate that word! but is one of the best electro pop albums all time! The lyrics can be a bit silly (or too gay) but makes sense to dance ;) I don't nobody cares but also in the cover looks like angel...:) |
Re: Tiga-SeXXXor
hey gof. glad you like the album cuz i hate it. I do love the DFA mix of Far From Home and the Chicken Lips mixes are good too. Actually, all the mixes beat the original in my opinion. i can't get past Tiga's plastic exterior. check the mixes of Far From Home and let me know which version you like best.

Re: Tiga-SeXXXor
aside from a couple choice tracks, it really bores me.

Re: Tiga-SeXXXor
completely agree. i think a few of the early tracks are fairly notable, aka. i'd bother playing them for others, but the majority of the rest i wish i'll never have to listen to again and i dont care...

there's no reason to be so deadpan unless he thinks such an uncommon attempt is going to turn heads his way. i dont feel like he's doing it for music, i feel like he just wants a style. 3 weeks, pleasure from the bass, louder than a bomb... all could have been twice as good if he wouldnt sound so sleazy and sexless. the only place where it really works is the house cover. the nin cover is the worst i've heard. and he had to get the guy from the scissor sisters to save 'you gonna want me.' i could be wrong. maybe he has the right thing in mind and he can't quite pull it off? maybe he's right? gof? |

from purely a dj point of view, i'll just buy the 12" singles |
Re: Tiga-SeXXXor
as a side note... how many of the tracks are covers?
I mean, even the cover itself is a copy of a Bryan Ferry cover I've only skimmed through the disc on iTunes, I might even up buying it, but not sure ...kinda weirded out by the cover of NIN's "down in it" though |
Re: Tiga-SeXXXor
But all Tiga stuff is always about style in my opinion, he is certainly not a "musician" or his music is full of composition, or anything like that but for being a dj album it has a lot of personality.. he is a dj no? and i think yes he has a lot of style as dj.. and his music does sound like dj music. Sexxor is super styled and as i say the lyrics aren't the smartest thing on earth... But if the point was to make a "dance" album he certainly make it good.. Maybe he wanted to go a step farther with the lyrics and singing i agree and he didn't make it that good in that part, though he is voice is pretty sexy.
See what i like is that electro became crap and this is a good electro album and i appreciate that.. i mean is 100 times better than freaking Fisherspooner for instance. the NIN cover.. i prefer it than the NIN songs but i hate NIN. I actually liked the fact here there are no remixes of his songs. Really nobody thinks that the whole beat of this album is gorgeous??? maybe is just for chicks. dull. ja :) |
Re: Tiga-SeXXXor
one more thing, about the plastic exterior & the brian ferry... isn't 80's wasn't THE plastic thing? he certainly make a good tribute.. i mean, listen to that piano in "(Far From) Home / The Speed Of Sexor Reprise".. is th efunniest thing. but this album is not deep or anything.. is just really fun/good!
