top telly - 'life on mars'

cracking new drama from the bbc (who else, eh? ;) ) policeman gets knocked over, and wakes up in 1973 where he has to solve crimes (cue throw-backs to 70's cop shows), all the while knowing he's 'really' in a coma, with people trying to coax him out of it.

confusing, original stuff - 1 episode in and i'm hooked - 'worth the licence fee alone' :)

('friends and crocodiles' looks set to be an absolute doozer as well... don't say i didn't tell ya!)

Yeah I thought it was brilliant, big fan of John Simm too.

it's nice to have a quality drama that isn't just being a vehicle for 'insertsoapoperastaronabigwedgehere'(coughitvstyle ) it's not often i do 'appointment to view' telly; but i'm really going to try and keep up with this one. in theory, that should be a piece of piss... ...but i know from experience that it's easier said than done!

I like Life on Mars too and i don't normally watch series as i usually end up missing the crucial bits but for this i will make an effort.
Thoroughly enjoyed Friends & Crocodiles too......particularly Damien Lewis's character.
The programme about Elizabeth David last nite was ok too. Hooray for British drama!.........er i think i may be watching too much non-sport TV:D

balderdash and piffle-type-stuff can be found in many interweb places - 'life on mars' is well-worth the grab

(i'm thinking that he's living out sweeney-esque fantasies from his youth just to pass the time)

friends and crocs did look great, and was superbly-acted - but a bit of form-above-substance in the end...

one to avoid like the fucking plague itself is 'tittybangbang' - utter utter garbage... thank me now for sparing bits of your life if you've ever considered it. or watch it just to see how unrelentingly shite it is :D

on bbc4 - jonathan ross' asian invasion is pretty good, even if you're not a big fan of eastern movies...

oooh. one of my lecturers was on that. it took me completely by surprise. Professor Steve Lindsay. he was showing people his daughter's nits, or something. made a bit of a tit of himself actually, which is a shame cos he was quite a good lecturer.
