You're shitting me right? That album was terrible. There were some great songs on it - Around The World, Burnin' - but they were needlessly moderated by filler. You know the kind of tracks I'm talking about - 'Phoenix' is a great example. The first sixty four bars are nothing but kick and hi-hat, and the song itself never expanded at all. 'Rock 'n' Roll' is another example of this. Just drums and an average sounding keyboard solo - for seven minutes. Some might see (for example) Nuxx in the same vein, but in Nuxx the rhythms and melodies are constantly but subtly changing. On Homework, it's not subtle, it's just not there.

Sorry to rant like this but the last place I expected people singing the praises of Homework was on the Underworld forums.

Whaaah? This isn't thinking-music...it's dance music, drive you crazy with the groove music! Try listening again, with the volume cranked. It's lo-fi, but it'll make you move.

i was offroading in Argentina, listening to "Homework" folowed by Daft Punk's "Alive 1997". i nearly crashed the truck, the music was driving me!
