well - it was a free download (although in a not-so-hot bitrate) on underworldlive

then it was "promoted" to a bonus track on the Japanese release of Barking

are "Simple Peel" and "Simply Distinctive" different songs?

...I remember that one of them was actually played live somewhat often on the OWB tours (like an intro to... You Do Scribble or NUXX)

Yeah, you're thinking of Simple Peal.

Simple Distinctive came first. It originally accompanied a Tomato trailer video (no longer available online) for The Floating World book by John Warwicker in 2005. Later it was played twice live as intros to NUXX at both Electraglide 2005 shows.

Simple Peal came next in 2008 as a free download on uwlive. It started with Simple Distinctive as the base, and then added live recordings that Rick did while on tour, such as the Köln Cathedral, and I believe someone said the Hamburg train station. And then, of course, released officially on Barking in Japan.

this song is the most played Underworld song in my library (2nd only to a 1:09 long unreleased work-in-progress of "cascade" by Hybrid circa 2003 which makes for excellent looping while working), and it's a real beaut. thanks for the tips on the other renditions of it -- gonna go find them immediately.

Holy mackerel, it isn't online? I feel lucky now. Except I only played it as a video, over a hundred times according to last.fm - hahaha. I should really convert it to an audio file by now, lol~

But Simply Distinctive is not in studio form anywhere?
