Upcoming: Underworld remixed by Martinez

So I heard on another forum that Martinez has done a remix of an Underworld track, but it's not out yet. I'm really looking forward to this, I really dig his funky minimalism. I have no idea if it will be a remix of an older song, or a remix of new UW material.

I'll keep you posted :)

I've not heard Martinez, but I don't like the idea of Underworld being mixed with minimalism, as my thoughts of Underworld are of something far from it, in fact maximism if such a thing exists. Layering different sounds with melodies over the top. Stripping it down leads me to believe that something will be removed and missing from the finished product. I do however, live in hope that I will be proved wrong and should check out Martinez before making any judgements.

Any new mixes are fine by me, but in the current climate it is most likely to be a new track, as i think they are still out-sourcing some mixes for their new tracks,

If that's correct, we have Paul Woolford, Pete Heller & Martinez on the list of current remixer, which leads me to believe that a 'new single' type track / tracks will be available to buy pretty soon, whether it be on MP3 via iTunes etc, or in hard form vinyl / CD....

here's hoping....

I'm looking forward to it. Apparently it's not the first time Underworld is getting remixed by a minimal house artist. I heard the Wighnomy Brothers did a killer remix of Born Slippy, but I can't find much information about it.

i have a dj set with the supposed Wignohmy Bros. mix of Born Slippy and it's lush. It's basically a typical Wignohmy beat with the soft pads from Born Slippy in a break, no lyrics, no nothing besides that bit of melody with the soft pads. i'd love to have a full quality, unmixed version of that.

Got some more info:

Underworld - Vanilla Monkey (Martinez remix), should be out as a new single for the upcoming album in Jan/Feb 2006. Robag Whrume remix on the flip side.

So that's 2 remix artists from the minimal scene. I-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g.

According to this page, Martinez lists the mix in his current top tunes as " Underworld - "Vanilla Monkey (Martinez Hungry Ghost remix)" - Junior Boys Own", and it looks like Patrick Bateman is spinning it too.

'Somewhere Over The Slippybergün'

Slippyberguen for the non-umlaut spelling

Aye, Patrick Bateman is the man I got the info from. He has it on CD-R, it's not out on vinyl yet. I assume he only has the remixes though.
