the artic monkeys a decent new band with a class single with lyrics of the teenage kicks variety at number one..............surely some mistake

looking forward to hearing the album, just hope all the hype they're getting at the mo doesn't ruin em. i don't read music mags anymore these days,so full of bullshit and poor writing its untrue and with that muppet of an editor turning nme into a bastardised smash hits i rarely even flick through it when bored waiting for the bus/train.

anyway a mate put them on to me a few weeks ago after raving about their gig at the ritz. Apparently they're the latest band to get hyped to death, but if the rest of their stuff stands up to the quality of this and keeps the energy of the track then the album could be brillant

There now fucked coz they are at number 1, something all of the other major indie ish bands like Franz Ferdinand never managed to do with their debut single. I tried getting a copy of there first ever ever release and it was sold out instantly. Ace song, but would have been better somewhere at the end of the top 20.
