From the first undulating pulses of submariner bass, the first vocals – soft like a whisper in the ear - and the first fizz of hi-hats that force along the pace, the sound is unmistakably Underworld. Electronics wrapped effortlessly around songs; streams of consciousness lyrics that form indelible images; a perfectly balanced mix of melody and rhythm. Underworld’s sixth studio album is a thundering return to form, although it’s fair to say that the band responsible have never really been below par. Like the bomb on the Icarus II in Sunshine, this new process of working had the effect of not so much reigniting a creativity within the band as exploding it into myriad new fragments. And through all of this, brilliantly and uniquely, it sounds just like Underworld.

we have seen details of the Barking CD in full

we have heard about the 2 x CD / DVD / Vinyl and Deluxe Box set - but no details

are these available yet - can someone let us know whats in each package (i.e. tracklisting)

because tomorrow the tickets for the forum go on sale, and i'm not doubting that most fans here will buy the best edition, but there are three options for tix at the forum, and do you spend out on a bundle ticket or just go ahead and buy the big box set... some people might like to know in advance

not sure how reliable it is, not certain that we're gonna get just 9 (original / demo versions of the main album) but maybe we are....

its pretty easy to put version straight after the album track names, and people won't notice... is it remixes original demos or what...

i'd like it to be a mixture of all three...

anyways, post any findings of the extras here...

and talking of extras - any extras on the DVD or is that just simply vidjos?

Well, as it says, Disc 2 is "Alt Versions, Work in Progress & Demos," so it sounds like it's everything except remixes. I'm hoping they put multiple versions of some of the stuff that's changed radically, rather than just one alt version for each track.

The DVD, it looks like it has additional videos and different videos.

Hmm.. yes, I think you're right about that. I misread the quote on UWLive "A Special Limited Edition Box Set edition of the album with 2 x CDs and 1 x DVD and a Vinyl edition" and thought the Vinyl was included also...

In that case, it seems a bit steep for a bonus CD, but very collectable...

HMV Japan ships to Chile apparently.
