American rapper Snoop Dog banned from Parkpop festival

American rapper Snoop Dogg has been banned from appearing at the Parkpop festival in The Hague on June 27.
An alliance of mayor, police and justice ministry officials have decided to ban the rapper in order to preserve the 'open and friendly character' of the festival.

House music is also banned from Parkpop because it does 'not match the atmosphere' of the free family festival.
The festival's organisers cannot yet say who will replace Dogg, who has a sold-out show at Amsterdam's Melkweg concert hall on June 28. Alphabeat, Nena, Nick Lowe and Juliette Lewis are among the acts appearing at Parkpop, which claims to be the largest free festival in Europe.

yeah heard about that on the radio last week. Absolutely ridiculous. They've had him booked for months and now a week before the festival they come up with this shit?
not that i'm a huge Snoop fan but I would have liked to see him (hey it's free!)

Weaksauce effort from the organisers to pull him at the last minute: shouldn't they have thought about those issues before? (Not that I like Snoop Dog very much - he's got his artistic merits, but blah. Not a fan at all.)

Amused by the fact that the first abusive comment is from someone called 'Karl H' - I laughed.

Its a pity Leon is mostly AWOL these days. I think his moustache is leading him astray.
