mislabel by iTunes (DFA / Soulwax question)
so a while ago - I downloaded the NY Excuse EP a while ago f/ iTunes, and it contained the following tracks:
NY Excuse (Nite Version) 6:10 NY Lipps (Kawazaki Dub) 8:10 Another Excuse (DFA Remix) 5:40 then today I got the "Nite Versions" cd, b/c it's not getting a release here in the US, and it's still listed as pre-order f/ amazon, yet you can buy it f/ iTunes already amongst the tracks on it - it's got: Another Excuse (DFA Remix) 8:00 ...and it sounds just like "NY Lipps (Kawazaki Dub)" so - obviously the tracks are mislabled, but which track is which? I would just think that the one labeled as the 8min DFA mix is really the Kawazaki Dub, but Turntable Lab descibed that one as having the heavy "Funky Town" samples so - which one is which? |
Re: mislabel by iTunes (DFA / Soulwax question)
Surely NY Lipps has a bit of Lipps Inc's Funky Town in it, so should stand out...

Re: mislabel by iTunes (DFA / Soulwax question)
oh... ok
I totally forgot who sang "Funky Town" so then -> NY Lipps (Kawazaki Dub) 8:00 is really the DFA remix and Another Excuse (DFA Remix) 5:40 is really NY Lipps |
Re: mislabel by iTunes (DFA / Soulwax question)
Does one have a lot of cowbell? If so, that's probably the DFA remix. :D

Re: mislabel by iTunes (DFA / Soulwax question)
i have the cd single of NY Excuse, what they have done is put a video clip on the cd, but instead of being track 5, it is track 1..
but on the cover, it is listed as track 5.. so all the song titles dont match up. |
