In support of today's "Record Shop Day" in britain Blur have released a new 7" today.. it was played on Rob Da Banks show this morning.. you can listen to it here

I like it, I guess i just like Alburns voice and the guitar at the end is Summer incarnate...

and somewhat ironically, many Fools are bidding like crazy on the twenty-odd copies on eBay. some are up to over £60, and a few vultures have BuyItNow's of over £150.

Incidentally, Phonica in London got 1 copy and are raffling it off to anyone spending over a tenner in there.

The queue at Rough Trade East this morning was well long, I'd estimate about 70-80 people in the queue

Id imagine a lot of stores that got a copy never even put it on sale - just gave it to a member of staff or something. Id never pay that much for it, and considering it was meant to promote record stores and help them survive into the future its kind of wrong to give 150 to some guy on ebay..

... thats if you think of record stores as some kind of charity case.. ha

Its a good track though.. fits nicely with the good weather we have been having.
