...has terrorism been ruled in, or ruled out by fox yet?

The vast majority of the time it's arson. This is like hurricane season for us...we get a few months of the year where the temperature really gets high up and the winds tend to blow pretty strong. It'd be better to call it terrorism, though :)

The fires are about to eat up one of the local TV station transmitters. The whole basin is just...thick with the grayish/brownish covering. The temperatures are also triple digits already so it's been pretty miserable. The interesting twist is the hurricane that's about to hammer Cabo san Lucas may provide some wet weather for us up here. I think it's el nino season again, which explains why Baja, California is about to be hit with a hurricane.

I'll be putting up some pictures tonight or tomorrow of a huge, billowing smoke plume we've been able to see looming over LA for the past few days. Pretty intimidating looking stuff.

Man it sounds crazy out there, and what with Athens having an awfull time at the moment too you could nearly call it Fire Season.

Interesting shots Sean. I only just made out those flames in the top one. It's only when you notice those that the 'clouds' suddenly appear as smoke.
