ashes 2009
get in :D
cue whining :D a better acheivement than 2005, given that we weren't in particularly good nick going into the series, lost our biggest batsman and had our biggest all-rounder struggling to walk. the aussies showed how much they'd relied on warna in the past, as they lacked that killer edge at vital moments. superb stuff - but now the challenge of retaining. which will be easier than last time round - australia will be heading for a massive rebuild, whilst our lot won't have had the comedown that the 2005 squad suffered after breaking the hoodoo. this is very much a squad on the up, whilst a lot of the aussie new boys have been tested and shown to be a bit lacking. we'll lose freddie, yes; but his influence (on the field) has been in decline for some time - this series has seen players stepping up and stepping in. the future's bright...:) |
