Dear Underworld; Re: You Do Scribble
Dear Mr Rick, Mr Karl, Mr Darren and any other people in UW HQ
Please will you release You Do Scribble when you put out another EP/RiverRun/Album etc. When I first heard it back in 2003[?] on the Exit Festival broadcast, it made everyone in the house stop what they were doing. We were having a midnight BBQ and we all had a fun time dancing around with a burnt sausage and can of beer in the other. I have had the pleasure of seeing it performed live 3 times and each time it has gotten better, either with extra lyrics being chucked in, or the drums getting a bit more fierce and biting. When you played it on the last radio show with Rob da Bank it made me happy knowing that there may be a finished version sitting in the Lemon waiting for people to get a groove on to it. I wonder if High Contrast has re-mixed it. I'm trying to be a detective here, as he is an ace d&b producer/DJ and one of your old UWlive diary posts said he was visiting the Lemon. Maybe for tea and cake, I don't know, but hopefully to remix You Do Scribble for the future. Who knows. Thankyou. |

yeah I thought they said they were gonna release it trough uwlive. Not sure why it hasn't happened yet. Definitely one of my favourite "new" uw tracks.

Re: Dear Underworld; Re: You Do Scribble
YDS is possibly my least favourite and most annoying UW track ever...
i use it to go to the toilet when its on live, seriously it gets on my tits... but each to their own then again - i'm all for anything being released, there's a long list of stuff i'd like in the original 'studio' form starting with Strumpet... |
Re: Dear Underworld; Re: You Do Scribble
yes, it's been mighty quiet around these parts as of late.

If YDS sees the light of day, one of the blistering live versions would be fine! I'd rather it not lose any energy or take another form in the studio a la "Always Loved a Film". So, maybe it's time for a digital release of the best live tracks that have yet to make it to record? Pricey's interludes, YDS, ALAF, Strumpet, Bamboo, etc.? |
Re: Dear Underworld; Re: You Do Scribble
i'm with matt, it's a clumsy track with little to be interested in. i imagine they're sitting on a studio version of it because what's being done live works but would sound skeletal and lazy any way else. it keeps momentum moving but i still dont think of it as even a real track by any means.
