That sucks. Underworld still have to cross the border to Canada after the californian gigs so maybe they'll play nearby Vancouver instead. Still sucks, because Seattle has a great music scene. Maybe the organisers of the Decibel fest would be interested in putting on a one-off gig...

No photo opt this time around then Brother? I wonder if dubman will be there in Oakland.

I feel your frustration though. I mentioned it to someone I know at Monqui presents, a local Portland promoter, and was presented with the same quizzical look that often happens when I mention underworld followed by a question like, "Is that something to do with the vampire movies?"

But yeah, it does suck having to make the trip, but I've resigned myself to that simple reality if I want to see underworld live. This will be my third trip to San Francisco to see them in seven years. Not too bad, but I would sure love to see them play a smallish Portland venue like the Doug Fir. Granted they would have to drop a great deal of the inflatables and the light show to play at such a venue.

Fuck it, i'll go to Oakland too. I can't miss the opportunity because i'm crying over them not playing my backyard.

I'm glad it's the local promoters that are lying and not UW being stubborn.

That's the spirit! I'm on the fence about whether or not to go to Vegas or LA at this point. Might just play it safe and not damage my london budget to see Spiritualized perform Ladies & Gentlemen We're Floating in Space in October at the Royal Festival Hall.
