Electraglide Festival, Japan

Ok, so I just bought a couple of tix to Electraglide in Osaka in November.

We're gonna fly over from Hong Kong just to see Underworld. How good does that sound!

Can anyone offer any info on this festival? Has it rocked in the past? Do the Japanese put on a good show?

Any and all info will be greatly appreciated

By all accounts Japanese crowds are fantastic, as are the festivals (Fuji Rock is a personal ambition).

osaka shows are great,the crowds are always more lively than tokyo.

I was lucky enough to see them at Fuji Rock in 2003. They were amazing and the crowd was mental. Loads of drug free japanese jumping around a muddy field like lunatics. Excellent stuff.

You will have the time of your life mate. Hope you enjoy.

how do you know they are drugs free? did you ask them?
a festivel without drugs? impossible

Sorry, I can only give an opinion based on my experience. I said loads of people, not everybody. I didn't get the opportunity to ask all of them , but I have been to enough club's, gigs, etc in the past fifteen years to know if somebody is off their face or not.

The point I was trying to make was that a lot of the people there were into it for Underworld and their music not just to go and see anything with a beat and get wasted.

I don't know about Fuji Rock or "Osaka" crowds, but when I went to Electraglide 2005, there were people into it for Underworld and their music, as well as people there just to go and see anything with a beat and get wasted!!! <--- From my observation, I'd have to say it was about 50%/50%, with a BIG gray area in between!!!

I'm not condoning the use of drugs, but Japan is like every other country. There are tons of drugs in here if you know where to look!
