This is a work in progress...

Re: Obama's cabinet
Not that Hillary can't handle the job, but I'm not sure I like her in the State department just because the thing her and Obama disagreed on was foreign policy. I would've preferred Bill Richardson in there myself.
But why is Richardson being tapped for the Commerce department? The only reason I can see is that he used to be Secretary of Energy in Bill Clinton's cabinet and that Obama really wants to push green industries to propel the economy. I'm glad Richardson is at least in his cabinet because the guy should be in there, but I figured he'd be part of the national security or state department. I like Napolitano and Daschle in their positions. No opinions on the rest. |
Re: Obama's cabinet
As far as Richardson goes, I believe he was offered his choice given that Clinton was going to agree to be Secretary of State. I don't think Richardson would have accepted another position if State wasn't a done deal. He may have picked commerce because perhaps Obama already has someone in mind for Energy.
With Detroit looking more and more doomed, the opportunity is there for Obama to take the massive workforce needing jobs and funneling them into green industries. That would would be a handle that Richardson could really make good use of, given his knowledge of the energy sector. Hillary is a good state pick, though. Now that she's "on the team" and is a very quick study, she'll fall in line a bit easier than perhaps most expect. |

Re: Obama's cabinet
sorry, no picture to include, but I thought this article pretty much sums up the building frustration with his picking clinton for SOS.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/david-..._b_144864.html I really want to know the thought process behind this selection. And I would say Obama discussing the real reasons behind it fall under the category of transparent government. |

This thought process stems from the fact of the U.S. having a monetary surplus when the Clinton's left office. Just a random thought off the top of my head though. |
