hello everyone,
after a long break, i'm revisitting the discography listings that i used to make...and will be posting them here.. i know matt has a great list here: *NOTE : Now inactive http://www.bigscreensatellite.co.uk/tracklistings.htm and i've used that as a reference for the later tracks.. his list is more inclusive, and i have broken it down just to make it little easier to find information. i have made the following: ------------------------- 1 underworld mk2 listing (including all darren emerson work) 2 underworld mk3 listing (after darren emerson left) i am NOT including all the download tracks, except for the riverun projects.. i am NOT including bootleg or DJ tracks, with one exception - confusion the waitress (remix) by darren emerson, since that was a full version on promo acetate..unlike the other partial mixes found on mix cds.. anyways, i'm sure there's some corrections on the newer tracks, but the uwMK2 should be 99% complete.. have fun locating the tracks, if you need help or information let me know.. later +/-1 i'm adding this as a header for the next post, as its hit the 10000 character limit. Well, whaddya know. I threw Minneapolis into a tempo/pitch changer, and sped it up, and it sounds just like the Jim Hopkins "Remix". OK, I'm removing it from my collection now.
Edit: Ack, I can't even stand to listen to it anymore. It sounds like a total bastardization of the original to me now. |

ok, i agree with all the talk about the
digital releases, yes it should reflect all formats.. some of the mixes you mentioned are available on promo cds.. i don't have most of this material, so thats why there's so much uncertainty and wrong with it.. well, good that's what we're trying to fix.. does anybody have the technical skills for the wiki? i'm about 2 years behind in internet years with technology, which means i'm about 10 years behind in real time stuff.. no wonder i don't want another programming job! later -1 ok, short of installing software on a server, i found these two free sites, does anyone know anything about it? or should i just jump in.. http://www.schtuff.com/ http://www.JotSpot.com |

It looks like there's another edit of Second Hand out there. I saw it listed on Matt's site, but now I've found which album it's on. It's on Euphoria: Chilled.

However, not having heard it, I can't say whether it's an actual unique edit, or if it's just a DJ mix of the 9:01 track. If I had to guess, I'd say it's probably a DJ mix. Does anyone know if the Euphoria series are mix albums? Oh, and I went back and listened to Second Hand 9:01 again. It's a genuinely different edit, not just a fade-out of Thing in a Book. In fact, it's a lot more down-tempo and ambient than Thing in a Book. |

Here's some more info on that mixmag edit:

If you fade out your volume at the 7:34 mark while playing it back, it sounds pretty natural. I generally don't sweat the fade-out edits, but some people like to be complete. |

It's the same length (11:14) as Dirty Epic (Dirty Mix), which is just Dirty, so maybe that's all it is.

i think i'm going to have to separate out
the 5.1 surround mix versions of the tracks from 'everything, everything'.. i used a tool called dvd audio extractor to check....(since i don't actually have a surround sound system)... but it seems that these mixes are in fact, of course, different from the stereo mixes.. that's ok for 'moaner', and 'kittens' since they were listed as dvd only.. another cool thing about it is, that like with our surround releases, you can separate all the tracks, and hear different sounds, and versions of the songs... for instance, the 4th track of cups doesn't have the crowd noise, and both the rear left and right channels have a different mix than the front channels, so you can mix those together to form your own 'surround' mix or stereo version.. i'll post a short sample for you to check out.. later -1 |

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...v=glance&n=130 there is a 5.1 surround sound mix for 'push upstairs' with the video...and the video clocks in at 4:18, but is actually about 4:10, and slightly different from the album version.. so this is probably another one that should be separated out.. i created a new stereo mix using the rear left and right channels, although it sounds pretty similar to the normal mix, however, maybe just the vocal levels and some instruments have been lowered. later -1 |

Woolford Dub is listed on the CD as 7'52 Woolford Vox is listed on the CD as 7'52 the Jal to Tokyo (Woolford Demo Mix), which i know of (it exists) is the original version Paul Woolford created and is 9'05 long - this will not be released, as far as i know. the Itunes version is as the Woolford Vox mix, the Riverrun version is an edited out version from a continuous mix, and as such is part of one long track, but as someone edited it out (stimpee i think) its as listed. these are the only full versions, although there are listed versions like paul woolford acapella's that appeared when the first mixes surfaced... anyway, there is still a bit of confusion as nothing has really officially come out apart from the Itunes and riverrun projects... |
