the warped vocal in Dark Train
All these years and I still cannot decipher what the hell that robotic slowdown voice is saying!
"damage / run system"? The Dark & Long (Burts Mix) has it a bit clearer but I still cannot make it out... btw the funniest lyrics sheet is here https://www.flashlyrics.com/lyrics/u...-dark-train-59 cheers! |
Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
Garage / Loads of stuff

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
The whole song literally has only 7 words:
Ride the train Ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-ga-garage, loads of stuff You're right that Burts is clearer, in that the "loads of stuff" sample is not being cut off most of the time, as it is in Dark Train. Quote:

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
the hell are you all on about now?

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
I used to think the 'ride the train' bit was 'train driver, train driver' and ''bout the driver, 'bout the driver' as a kid. I also thought 'loads of stuff' was 'Moses'.

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
and i used to hear "dark train" instead of "ride the train"

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
I'm ignoring this whole thread and continuing to believe that it's love this stuff in the middle, though garage sounds more likely than the imitation of a train letting off steam (gou-gou-gou-gousch) that I thought it was.

Re: the warped vocal in Dark Train
Honestly, after pitching it up a bit in Dark and Long Burts, it kinda sounds like "Garage, (with) loads of stuff". I'm not certain it says with, but I think I can vaguely hear it.
On the subject of warped vocals, the growl sound in Dark and Long is actually Karl saying "You okay?", but slowed down a lot. Its clear at the end of the Dark and Long demo if you want to speed it up yourself. |
