Not to mention the ancient equipment he composed most of that stuff on giving it a unique sound. If its the bit I think you are talking of, sure I could see that sounding Carpenteresque (and lets be frank, he used a lot of the same sounds for different soundtracks), but pretty coincidental im guessing.

Thanks for the ftp link Yan. Just watching the set on iPlayer now but good to have a download for future listening :)
I still don't really like I Exhale but I quite like the other new songs.

To be fair they did transition Ova Nova into Nylon Strung. Not really in any elaborate way but the beat didn't stop.
Actually these two tracks together are definitely a highlight for me. Two really beautiful, emotional sounding songs with some nice singing by Karl and interesting to have female backing vocals (can't remember them having that ever?).

I also like Ricks' new starship Enterprise-like mixing console. :)

ALAF had Rick's daughter, Esme, on backing vocals. I don't think that's her on Nylon Strung though, cause she's a soprano (and it doesn't sound like her). I guess we'll have to wait until we get the liner notes to see the credits. Although maybe it's Karl's daughter. He's talked about her recent band stuff, and she did backing vocals for him too on the Edgeland tour.
