ATTN: Musicians & Labels - Help Shape Online Music Distribution

Don't know if you folks have heard of SNOCAP, but they've hired frog design to help improve their user experience. In order to get an idea of how best to do that, they are conducting a survey of musicians and music labels. They are looking for any musicians or anyone who works for a record label (independent or major). Feel free to pass this survey along to any that fit that bill. The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes.

For those of you unfamiliar with the company and its products, SNOCAP will enable artists and labels to make their music available through online retailers [including authorized peer to peer networks]. SNOCAP’s goal is to improve how music is digitally distributed and by responding to this survey, you and those you know can help.

Interesting.....

I'm very intruiged by the whole online music market thing. Its starting to look like the music industry is starting to pull its head out of its ass and finally make use of digital distribution as a viable way for musicians to get paid.

Lots of hurdles still though, but having a way to make $$$ off p2p is a major coup in my eyes.

Agreed! There's so much great music dist'd online these days, especially by up-and-coming artists, it's about time someone figured out a way for everyone to get paid! (plus, i'm starting to have guilt pangs about the amount of tuneage i've obtained without paying a cent:eek: ;) )
