Re: Fog on the Tyne

see the thread i started about it below!!!

shame that it took attention from fergie's unbelievably hypocritical behaviour as far as berbatov's transfer is concerned - quite how he can wet his panties about madrid and slack-jaw, and then carry on like that is grade-A cock behaviour.

ferguson, cock.

Re: Fog on the Tyne

They're now reporting that Keegan hasn't quit after all

What a fucking shambles!

And as a Spurs fan who also quite likes United, I'm in agreement that Ferguson is a cock of the highest order. All that crying over Ronaldo and then Berbatov has a medical at United before Spurs have even granted him permission to talk to them

I'm sorry to see a player of his quality leave but his attitude & professionalism has been shocking so quite happy to take the £31m thank you very much. Don't suppose he'll get much of a welcome whenever he plays at the lane in the future. And whilst his quality is unquestioned he does sometimes go missing in games and can look very ordinary.

I was disappointed that we didn't sign Owen though as rumours on Monday were suggesting, as he would have been a bargain at £2m depsite his injury problems.

And what the fuck is going on at Man City? Not sure Robinho knows what he's got himself into and he's a player who's the very model of unprofessional so wouldn't be surprised to see him sulking again by the end of the season and forcing through yet another move...

Re: Fog on the Tyne

Fuck knows why'd you want Owen, Mr Horseracer isn't happy with 100k a week. Boo fucking hoo, this comes despite him being broken most of the sodden time.

Re: Fog on the Tyne

what a mess at newcastle

A WISE CHOICE

He hunted at the start, he hunted through the middle and he hunted
towards the end - yes, in his quest to unearth a replacement for
Kevin Keegan as Newcastle manager, Mike Ashley truly left no page
unturned in Dennis Wise's address book. And all that hard leafing
today bore fruit as Newcastle proudly announced that the man charged
with dragging them up the Premier League is Joe Kinnear. You know,
Joe Kinnear! The badger-looking bloke last seen scurrying away from
Nottingham Forest in 2004 with his tail between his legs.

"I am very excited about the challenge in front of me at Newcastle
United," said Kinnear after putting pen to a confidence-inspiring
one-month contract. "Results have not been great of late, but there
is a lot of quality in the squad and I am very confident the players
are capable of climbing the league table," he continued, cleverly not
making it clear whether he was still talking about Newcastle.

Though Wise had left Wimbledon before Kinnear took charge of them in
1992, the perceived connection between the pair is sure to have the
Toon Army up in flabby arms. "The fans will be disappointed, I
understand that, but I can't do anything about it," wibbled Kinnear.
"I will just be doing my very best because I am desperate to get back
into the game. I will be going up to Newcastle on Monday and will
pick the team from then. It is a big challenge but one I am really
looking forward to."

Kinnear hopes that if he defies expectations by transforming the
team's fortunes, the plonkers who buy Newcastle may just keep him at
the helm. That would mean spurning the obvious choice, a man who has
previously masterminded a sensational revival for the club: Uri
Geller. "Newcastle had not won a game in 29 matches," gushed Geller
in December 1991, before explaining how he ended that run by
conjuring victory over Arsenal. "Two plus nine is 11. While they were
scoring the winning goals I was running around outside the ground 11
times to lift the hoodoo. I had arrived late and had no ticket. But
the moment I got out of the car and touched the Highbury Stadium, Ray
Parlour was sent off."

The Fiver of course. Always guaranteed rubbish...

In a favour-currying bid even more shameless than appointing him
manager, Kevin Keegan will reportedly be offered a multi-million
pound stake in Newcastle if the South African group rumoured to be
contemplating a bid for the club get their way.

At first, i thought this thread might be about the musical stylings of early 70's English rock band Lindisfarne, who hit it big with their LP "Fog on the Tyne" :p

well, thats where it comes from. But with Newcastle being on the Tyne, and there being plenty of fog around whats happening at the club, its certainly a worthy thread title.

Latest from The Fiver:

Newcastle 'manager' Joe Kinnear says Mike Ashley is in talks with at
least eight potential idio ... buyers as he attempts to offload the
club.

Re: Fog on the Tyne

not so sure you should be calling them idiots, stimps. ashley may have fucked up when it comes to the unwise keegan fiasco (see what i did there?) - but apparently he has done a very good job as far as the club's finances are concerned - so they'll be buying into a big club with a big base and little debt...

apologia acceptio. the fiver aint a serious thing, which is why i like it. i like that they take the piss out of everyone. unfortunately NUFC are at the forefront right now!

i hate it when business men fuck with something youre passionate about. in my case football clubs. sheffield wednesday are currently in a tug of war battle for ownership thats been going on for over a year now and its shit. no money, no hope.

you make it sound like a bad thing... ...any newcastle manager that can get a defence together enough to shut out chelsea at stamford bridge isn't doing a bad job, surely?

And with comedy ramvblings from time makes it easier to. Still, saying that we'll probably get beat off the Smogs tomorrow after drawing with Chelsea away.
