Underworld Things : Selling
 

Hey everyone,

Its time to 'Do A Matt' and start to sell off my UW collection.. in part, anyway.

I am going to write out a nice list of stuff and post it here in the next couple of days.

Back in 2002, everyone took pics of their collection and here was mine:

There are many other additions to that since then, including some signed stuff...

Im NOT selling any Tomato books or ROMS, and there are 1 or 2 things i am going to hang on to (such as the dirty epic CD promo, kiteless and footwear vhs).

But if you want to make me a sensible offer for anything you see in the pic, please PM me or email mike@rowla.com and i will consider it. Im not absolutly desperate to get rid of this stuff straight away, but basically, if the offer outweighs my sentiment, then its yours hehe :)

Its interesting... ive never really been that bothered about 12" releases, i suppose its just because ive never played them... In fact, STITI is worth more to me because of the amazing artwork in a 12" format...

I got ME / The Hump for £20 from a guy in Sheffield after buying a King of Snake promo.. i just asked him if he had anything else by underworld, and he said he had it. I would never have paid loads for it, i guess im not the number 1 superfan!

Having said that, i wouldn't sell it for £20... the sentiment of being only one of a few owners of this is high.. but if someone made an offer i couldnt refuse, then i guess i would consider selling it..

About the dirty t-shirts:

They are size L

I have had quite a few requests / questions about these.. i think im gonna stick them on ebay, to be fair because so many people want them!

btw i still have loads and loads of stuff left (not boasting) but a lot more than Mike still - (it takes ages to 'get rid of')

i'll try and let people know what else i have left (a lot is listed at discogs) (http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?seller=mattval1)

but despite what people say sometimes you need to do these things

its over a year down the line and i don't regret selling anything (even the Hump!)

its just stuff - life is more important

(i have the music still, and the memories!)

Nooo! Life is important, yes, but so is stuff. Keep it all, catalogue it, buy archival boxes, sleeves, wrapping material etc, box the cds, place the printed ephemera in inert melinex transparent sleeves, wrap the T's in acid-free material, and every 3 months display a selection of your collection in your lounge in sealed glass cases at 55% relative hunidity, 18-20 degress celsius, and with a light level no more than 50 lux.

(Needless to say, I work in the conservation department of the 2nd biggest library in the UK)

but that stuff IS my life...

what else is important?
i don't have a family/kids/etc....or anyone
to share any of it with..

just the dirtyboard..

so thats why the 'stuff' is so much more important
than life.... to me anyways..

well when you do have life changing priorities - you end up thinking differently - well i did... i was like that before - UW was my life, now my life has changed, and uw and music and stuff are secondary...

i'm still here on the board, still have some stuff, but its not the number one thing for me now, its just a hobby rather than my life... and i'm much happier, (and have money for other things!)

the brown shirt isn't even official. just make one yourself. should only cost about 20-30 bucks including the cost of the shirt.

well part of it was satisfaction ;)
i came in here during the "get these while they're hot" sale and i'm sitting there going "eh?"
then they went
then a year later i really wanted one. i still really want one. that brown one will be mine someday....
and yea it's a bit of a bummer that if anyone goes to dirty.org theyre going somewhere they shouldnt, but no one does that anyway.

but i think new tshirts for a new site is a great idea, and i'd rather we make a thing of it with designer contributions and voting than just puttering off to make it ourselves.

i still get plenty of compliments on the his n hers 'beautiful/burnout' + 'biro/the/leggy' shirts i made for the SF shows

i've got a Women's Medium for sale still, black tee, white 'beautiful/burnout' print on front and 'underworld live in SF' print on back.

I concur. Those BB & Biro shirts for SF looked pretty good.
Maybe we can use that method to produce new shirts that everyone has voted on & is willing to contribute to. Both $ & ideas.
