Re: My Wine Blog
Nice blog! I know a bit about wine, but this is really useful. I will be looking for some of the recommendation on this side of the pond - especially when I go to France in August!
(Now sipping a cheapo Gallo rose, but I like it anyway ;) ) |
Re: My Wine Blog

I refuse to pay five or six quid or more for a mere bottle of Cotes de Rhones that I know I will be able to pick up for 3 euros in 6 weeks' time. A fiver, or 8 euros, would buy me a delicious Cotes de Blaye, or even a passable St Emilion in France. It just irks me. ;) |

Re: My Wine Blog
Coolio, Prof.!
So, i worked for 4 summers in NW Argentina, around Mendoza and San Juan, where many merlots are born. Funny thing is, non-Argentines often rave about these wines, while the natives often claim they're vinegar piss. Guess it's the "Grass is always greener" principle. That said, i enjoy a good Chilean or Argentine red. Went to grad school in upstate NY, where the whites and dessert wines were grown, but not really my thing. ;) |
