R Rated Alien VS. Predator trailer!

Click

Looks like what they should have done with the first one. Can't wait.:)

ugh, well it can't be any worse than the last one... (can it?)

Can't really judge from this trailer if it will be better than the first AvP. I think the whole idea stinks, tbh. The first Predator remains one of my most favourite action movies, I wish they would've left it at the first movie :(:p

I'm reserving judgement unitl a later point, especially with these films. A good, tight, well cut trailer can make anything look good.

Looks at least 100 times better than the first heap of shit movie. Still, 100 times nothing is still nothing. We shall see, but I'm mildly optimistic off the back of that. The story looks like it might play out like the story from the Aliens comic (1990ish) which was what the first film should have been.

Paul Anderson can fuck off tbh. Not as much a Uwe Boll though. He can fuck off and die.

Other than the lame-o "plot" and uninteresting human characters in the first AvsP movie (i mean, c'mon, couldn't they at least make Sigourney "Ripley" Weaver go back in time?!),
i think the big problem with the film was that the Alien wasn't scary enough anymore. Sure, it kills most humans, but i don't recall the Predator having any trouble with it. The Alien seemed smaller, like an insect to be swatted around and squashed, rather than the super-scary baddies in "Alien" and "Aliens". Maybe we saw too much/too many Aliens. In those first clasic films, less was definitely more.

having seen AVP i thought it was ok...

i mean what else can you do with an Alien and the Predator... it was kinda how i'd expected it to be - and it wasn't that bad....

but this one is expected to be better... milk those franchises....

Yeah, maybe. Or maybe is was just because Paul Anderson directed it and he's a total fucking jizz cock.

What colour is the sky where you're from? Honestly, this is definitely the worst film I've paid to see in the last 5 years, if not ever. Consider this: NO tension, awful characters, confusing direction (yeah, let's have it in a big internally shifting pyramid thing, that'll be fun to watch/try and follow), a script apparently penned by an autistic 12 year old and an ending that reeked of having given up (which I can kind of understand, having been so awful up until that point - yeah, alien head for a shield, tail for a spear, maybe she should have had sex with the predator too).

I'm sorry, I just think you're wrong.

I'd say a lot.

I remember in either the original comic or the first draft of the script that was floating around the internet like 15 years ago (don't remember it TOO well), it all took place on an alien planet that the predators infested with aliens for like a hunting trip. There were NO humans.

Although it would not be the obvious commercial choice, I think an Alien vs. Predator film with NO humans would really kick ass. Even if it was still earth and just in rain forest or tundra or desert or whatever... just have two predators hunting down aliens and talking predator-talk to one another, all tactics and action and survival shit. Then on the aliens end, show how they adapt to environments (it'd be great to see jungle environments taken over by the Giger black alien scenery) and use packs to attack the predators. that'd kick some major ass if you ask me. like a whole movie of those 15 minutes in the original Predator where it was just Arnie vs. Predator, but with no Arnie and alens...

...and Kelly Rowland saying "place your bets"

That is the best fucking idea ever. I would watch that with gusto.

I remember one aliens comic book with a fake alien made by humans. A robot in disguise who would infiltrate within the actual aliens herd. It was very interesting and would give a lot of good moments in the big screen. Or something..

lol, i never said it was a fucking master piece and i didn't, and wouldn't have paid to see it, i just said it was ok...

it shouldn't have been made in the first place, imo, but having seen it, you can watch it and forget about it... simple as that (i wasn't entering into it with high expectations and therefore wasn't as disappointed obviously)

i didn't read too much into it as a movie... and if i had paid for it maybe i would have been pissed off, but i tend not to bother going to see predicable unnessecary movies at the cinema, and it is those that did pay to see it who have encouraged a sequel... which i will see when it arrives on a Movie channel and not at the cinema

stop paying and going to see shit movies and they 'might' stop making them...

Re: R Rated Alien VS. Predator trailer!

the problem with bad movies, is that they will still get made,
as nowadays a movie can make more money on DVD sales,
and pay/cable etc..

even if the never release AvP 3 (assuming this 2nd one
bombs) i'm sure they'll release it straight-to-video etc..

let's say this 2nd one does terribly, it really doesn't matter,
it will still go to DVD/cable etc...where i'm sure it will do
better...................

then all we have to do is wait another 10 years, and
someone will 'reimage' alien, and redo the first one over
again...........(eg. superman, batman, etc...)

You're right. Also included are the recent "Halloween" movie, all the versions of Night of the Living Dead. Weird how there's often a better recepion to the reimaged versions or those that concentrate on the bak story or birtth of the legend. It's as if everyone forgets how crappy all the sequels were!

Re: R Rated Alien VS. Predator trailer!

i think a prequel to 'alien' would be kind of neat..

it would be very minimal though, in showing how
the aliens got to the planet, and how that one
spaceship crashed there..

i've read ALL of darkhorse aliens comic adapations,
and some are very good...some are pretty bad..

i've also read the fake scripts floating around..

there's a lot of good ideas out there...however
it's unlikely they will ever be made, even though
it's a lot cheaper to do things in cg..

although, a short series of cg graphics aliens
episodes would be pretty cool...given the right
story..

This is utterly true but you can't deny the draw of the aliens/predator licences. Also, you can't objectively call something shit without having seen it. Unfortunately.

yeah I used to agree with this but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Fantastic 4 part 2, Hulk part 2... it really doesn't seem to matter how many people see the movie because Wal Mart moms buy everything on dvd anyway.

you mean the trailer wasn't enough of a deterrent?

that's pretty much the entire plot w/spoilers it looked like..
