I think Remain in Light is perhaps my favorite album. But I also love, LOVE the live album Stop Making Sense.

it's quite possibly the most perfect live concert DVD that you will ever own.

I mean, the set list, the performance, the sound quality the camera angles, everything!

and the bonus David Byrne interviewing David Byrne is hillarious

david byrne was one of the best acts i've ever seen at glastonbury - only saw him because the dance tent was too rammed - very weird when he wore his skinless costume.

don'tcha think that the new razorlight stuff has a strange david byrne/television feel?

I recently bought Eno/Byrne - My Life in the Bush of Ghosts and that stuff is more awesome than anything the Talking Heads ever did. The first 5 tracks or so are completely gold, I don't have any other of Eno's albums but if there is something else like this album out there please let me know.:cool:

on the basis of this thread i decided to check out Stop Making Sense, not really knowing the Talking Heads at all. So I downloaded it and after two or three listens, I was hooked!
So I bought the cd and I ordered the dvd as well. :)

I recently got some of the new remastered bonus tracked CDs, and they are pretty damn awesome. I'm a huuuuuge fan of the late 70's/mid 80's New Wave crisis (The Police, XTC, Devo, Gary Numan, and so on), so I love these guys, and yes Stop Making Sense is an unbeliveable DVD - but if you want a good CD of the Heads live (or rather, two of them) then please please please please pick up "The Name of This Band is Talking Heads". Fantastic stuff with so many highlights it's not even funny, hell with this you can skip their studio albums altogether, although you'd miss the studio "Once in a Lifetime" which is one of my favorite songs ever.

yea

"Stop Making Sense" is probably the best live concert film... ever. The cd version... well - the original version kinda sucks, the remastered/ special edition one is actually pretty good

but I'd definitely recommend the live x2cd "The Name of This Band Is Talking Heads"... it's an incredible live album, and you get to hear how their live show slowly evolved over time, from just this small unit - to this huge band

(like - literally numbers... they eventually got quite a few people for their live shows)

Speaking of, I just found a lost CDR copy my brother made of my 'Remain in Light', which my no-good roommate lost over a year ago. My personal favorite talking heads song: "The Great Curve".
