Coachella is 3 days this year
 

Early for a Coachella thread, I know, but this is exciting news. A friday, Saturday and Sunday. Think they'll spread the bands out a bit so you don't have to shuffle around, leave one act early to catch another act? Or was last year's ticket sales enough to grab another day's worth of music? Or are there too many headliners for two days? Or are there a lot more indie-type acts that have been signed on?

Line-up due out in a month and a few days.

I know that I am prone to the overuse of superlatives, but I am absolutely deadly serious when I say that

KONONO NO.1 ARE THE BEST LIVE BAND THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN.

I have never danced like that in my entire life and I doubt I will again.

I just hope they continue on with the trend last year of having some of the heavier side of dance music playing. Would love to hear some straight up bang bang techno there. Though I doubt i'll get that.....

I caught Nitzer Ebb in Phoenix a few months ago. Same energy they had when they started out.

Don't miss them if the make Coachella.

i've seen vnv nation 3 times and have really enjoyed the shows. as one of the djs at the local industrial/goth/ebm club, we play stuff by vnv a fair amount, so i might be a little biased.

the music draws a lot from trance music with some synth-strings thrown in here and there. if you have itunes on your computer (or some other program that let's you preview tracks), check out tracks like "joy", "solitary", "standing", and "chrome".

if you go, expect to see lots of goff girls in black pvc next to kids with glow sticks ;)

Bleh..not that good. A lot of those bands I have seen already or I can see in the future.

I would be excited to see RATM, Sonic Youth and The Arcade Fire basically. I wish I had gone to the Coachella with the Flaming Lips...

I dunno if it is one show thing. Honestly I like the first RATM album more than anything...the rest is so so. But I hope that shit Audioslave band is put to rest it is a disgrace to both RATM and Soundgarden. Man a Soundgarden reunion playing songs of the Badmotorfinger era would really make me go to Coachella.

Looks like a pretty decent line-up imho...mix of big-names, indie darlins', up-and-comings. Sure there are a few duds, but it's all subjective, right? I think i could be entertained there!

There will probably be a late add somewhere...Massive Attack and Daft Punk were late adds last year, The Chemical Brothers in 05, and so on...but there has got to be something done about the Sahara talent.

You know you've got a point....... I wouldn't be surprised if something like that happens because the dance lineup is noticably thin, i mean even beyond what's there being rather eh, there just.....seems like there's got to be some holes up in that piece.

The dance lineup is pretty full already, dude: Hawtin, Tiesto, PVD, Faithless, Evil9, Heather, MSTRKRFT/Justice/Digitalism, Soulwax, Girltalk, Spankrock, VNV nation, Erol Alkan (if he dj's), Infected Mushroom, Benny Benassi. A lot of that is shit I'd never be caught dead listening to, but it still is a pretty full lineup.

Yeh I guess I missed it for that reason.....

Don't really care for any of it. VNV Nation is kinda cool, but yeh none of that makes me feel like plopping 700 beans down on making it out this year :( While the rock is good, I know it just won't work for me if there isn't at least SOME worthwhile dance stuff, and Felix the Housecat isn't enough....

On the first post I missed Jesus & Mary Chain on the line-up, that would be nice to see as well. But bleh, It just doesnt seem as exciting as previous years for some reason.

there are some extremely hilarious acts on that lineup... however overall, i'd say it would be the worst festival of all time... although worth going to
