black suit looks quite good in this. still would be better with the white chest emblem.

i've got high hopes for this because raimi is still in charge, and the other 2 were brilliant. raimi still being in charge also means the studio havent been able to force this into sooner release, a la brett ratner with x-men 3

well, there sort of was a period dealing w/ like a 'dark side' of spiderman...

when Peter Parker had the alien symbiote (black costume) - he started having intense nightmares, and he'd awaken in the middle of the city. The costume itself started controling his body, oh - and PP became like a general asshole too

and the costume would like - get anxious and angry... so, the costume was really a sentient being

but what I wonder - is how they're going to introduce the costume itself... I mean there's absolutely no way that they can use the same origin as from the comics

Yeah, cuz the comic basically had this story where they were transported to another dimension by an omnipotent version of Tom Jones.

The Ultimate Spider-man origin of the symbiote black substance was that it was grown in a lab.. which is probably what they'll use for the movie, since everything Spider-man movie related has been from a lab experiement so far and it wont be such a stretch of the imagination for movie-goers.

But yeah, no aliens in the movies.. like they removed the alien aspect of Phoneix in X-men 3. It's better this way.

okay, so what is up with spiderman2 during the train scene when everyone saw his face, mj saw his face. is that not like a problem there?

the trailer looks amazing. so is brock/venom going to be towards the end of the movie to set up 4. because i saw sandman and assuming that goblem fellow will be showing up too.

well in the train scene all the passengers say stupid crap like "he's just a kid" and "we wont tell anyone". i guess mj gets turned on by the spidey suit and pp has to be come to bed as spidey once a week for her

i guess sandman and goblin (harry) are the bad guys in this, with the blacksuit at first helping spidey, then pp realising its bad. ive read a lot that topher grace is venom, and i reckon that will be the cliffhanger for spidey4. i could be wrong on all of that of course

Yeah we'll see Eddie Brock but I'm guessing he won't be Venom until Spider-man 4.. since Peter has enough to deal with (Sandman, Green Goblin II, mystery unannounced "fourth" villain, black suit issues) and if they want to keep it at the slow pace of the other two movies, they'll probably leave it at that.

If they had Venom in the movie, they would have shown him in the teaser like they did Sandman and GGII.

Not necessarily. At least, it would be great if they could not reveal every plot twist in a movie in the trailer these days.

MJ and PP get married. That was the progression of the comic books. She knows his identity and it sometimes strains their relationship, along with MJ's acting career.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure I noticed a fleeting shot of Venom in one of the Spider-Man 3 trailers. It may not have been the one linked above, as my QT is broken and I had to search on Youtube. As far as I know, there aren't any other characters with black alien suits and enormous mouths of sharp glistening alien teeth. :D

And besides, Venom is in the film credits on IMDB.com.

I'm a Venom fan, obviously. :) :)

Always was a bigger fan of the black costume than the red/blue one.

My theory on the alien is that it will be like the Fox Spiderman cartoon and have come back from space with J.Jameson Jr. Seems like an easy way to do things.
Never heard anyone compare The Beyonder to Tom Jones, but it fits so well I almost spit my coffee.

the comic-con trailer had all new footage and even showed Venom at the end Click for a blurry cam recording of it......
