Sin City (again)

This just came out here and it rules beyond everything.

Also, after seeing it yesterday, two patrons at a Bathurst movie theatre got into an argument about whether it's graphic violence made for good watching. It got heated, then one man bit the other man's nose clean off. I kid you not.

Anyway, fucking top movie hey?

I thought it was awesome. First movie I saw in the theatre on shrooms since I had a bad trip at The Cell. (The next movie was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! Boom!) It upset Tyler. He's very delicate.

(I'm just kidding, Tyler. I just haven't forgotten that we were having an interesting discussion about it when Scott broke dirty.)

Good but not that good. I wouldnt bother to rent it or even download it. Worth watching once. Style over substance, disjointed storyline and quite difficult viewing at times. Still, having said that I did kinda enjoy it as it was certainly different.

Batman was better :)

I have been watching an ace quality download. I saw it once in the theater then again about a month ago. I liked it at the theater, but like it even more with repeat viewings.

I don't think that you can compare it to Batman, because Sin City pretty much stands as it's own thing. Batman Begins still follows typical mainstream movie styles. Sin City follows nothing.

Re: Sin City (again) with spoilers

(a lof of spoilers around)

Saw it last night properly on the cinema and i even had a mini dream about it, too nerd to tell but hell yes! This movie is amazing!!!
Overall is incredible well done and entertaining though i felt that the last part of Hartigan and Nancy was way too slow..

The white blood is my favorite detail of the movie :).

i think that production wise is amazing, the effects look gorgeous, the music, th ecinematography, casting, acting jeje. I loved the film.

My fav story was the one of Marv! Love those punches, the sounded HARD!
love it.

The movie get so ridiculous some times that is surreal but i guess is all the point! (dinasours and australian mercenaries!! What the hell?!!

I love all the language of the movie and the plot about "jerk loosers" risking all for "a sluth" all the time.

So great! Sin City rocks hard.

So fucking cool.

I want sin city 2 - more stories now.

But alas we must wait at least a year. But it is coming so that is reassuring. now just give us all the nice DVD package with supplements galore to leave us sated for the time being.

tinyman 07-25-2005 02:49 AM

question.

Just saw it the other day. so amazing.

Possible spoilers(?)

but what's with the beginning on the balcony and the end meeting in the hospital elevator? Was that meant to fit in with the three main stories at all and I just missed the connection, or is that pieces from other sin city stories that may come in future movies? Or was the first part just setting the vibe of the city (and the movie) and i really shouldn't be reading anymore into it?

i had never heard of these comics/books/novels/whatever before this movie came along. so i know nothing.

Yep. That, and it explains why the guy is there at the end. The only time it ties into the rest of the story is in that last scene.

Re: Sin City (again)

The first story absolutely cracked me up. The rest of the ride, while enjoyable, was rather downhill in comparison.
