TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
I had the enormous pleasure of seeing TOOL last night on the first night of their U.S. small venue tour.
Incredible. They sounded great. The visuals were awesome. The new material sounded phenomenal. They played "The Pot" which is my favorite cut off of 10,000 Days and I kicked it backstage with the band (Maynard wasn't there unfortunately -- probably doing yoga somewhere or something). If any of you out there get the chance, see them on this small venue tour...quite possibly the show of the year... |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
never has a band and the people who like them shared the same name...until now.
bxsci: if that goes over your bald ass head let me know and i'll explain it slowly for you. |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
I'm all ears.

Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
bxsci, was there seating at the Paramount or was it GA? I've never been there but from what I've read about the place it's a traditional style theater with rows of seats etc etc.
|
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
There was no GA at the Paramount for TOOL, and actually the seating added to the theatrical nature of the performance...of course no one was actually sitting...
|
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
I was curious about the seating in regards to the Paramount as musicals and other non rock shows go to that venue. I figured the Paramount's seating was much like the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall here in Portland. When I saw Tool in August of 2001 during their small 12 show West coast tours with King Crimson at this venue it was same thing. Of course the Schnitzer in Portland is where the symphony and operas and things like that play here in Portland with the occassional rock show or two. But for Tool to play there it was a bit of shock for people, but it was an ideal venue for an amazing performance.

Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
yeah....fak this BLD gimp.
nothing says ' im a self centered idiot " more than dissing someones personal concert review, seeing how said " self centered idiot " wasnt even there. go piss up a flagpole. |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
cracking up here. btw folks with soiled drawers, bxsci and i have been friends for years and get quite a chuckle out of this type of banter, but thanks for the well wishes! was only doing it to fuck with bxsci but suceeded in outing all the gun-jumpers.
greetings! |

...not really. you insulted me (a tool fan). there was no gun jumping there. if i knew you were joking that would have been fine....but there was no way in hell i could have known that. |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
hey eurozerozero, no hard feelings on my end about any of the comments. my comments to bxsci were out of line if you didn't know the background. i honestly have no opinion of Tool other than their t-shirts scare me. no insult intended to any Tool fans. after all, dear Lloyd likes Tool and i don't need any finer gauge than his delicate taste to tell me they're worthy of the praise.
enjoy the Tool banter and i'll get back to punking bxsci on his voicemail. |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
hahaha.
i clicked on this thread for hyper defensive tool fans, and i totally got it *self high-fives* BLD is a severe case of douchery, tho. |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
|
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
In defense of the reaction to BLD's comment, while I am a Tool fan you need to look no further than the posts written on these forums about the Cochella show to back up the common conception of the ignorant, arrogant and misguided Tool fan.
Just a thought... |

A generic, useless, thoughtless thought. A band is NEVER their fans. It just doesn't work that way. What if George Bush said he loves, say, Sigur Ros? |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
HAHAHAHAHAHA this is funny as fuck. (laughing out loud here, *wipes tea from monitor screen*)
Put the handbags away Tool fans. I think that BLD aka Biznotic has been around these parts too long and contributed too much to be considered a troll. I suppose a line about how these two know each other for years should have been forthcoming but i've never seen such the touch paper lit so quickly in here over a one line post. I've seen worse shit written about Underworld on here over the years and with less reactionary responses. Anyway, he's explained the background now so the venom can stop right here. |

It doesn't matter whether it's TooL, Underworld or Los Manolos. He was trolling as he's got a new username which we aren't supposed to know that belongs to a long-time dirt or whatever. And he didn't put anything that could lead anyone to think that the post was written in a tongue in cheek, ironic private joke way. Anyway I admit I was intrigued at BLD's postcount, but didn't care in looking his profile or recent posts.... |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
poor BLD, look whatcha gone and done brotha. Do yourself a favor...go buy the new TOOL album and as you're listening to it have yourself a nice
big cup of shut the fuck up... :D Cheers! bxsci |

***spoiler Alert***
Here's the set list from the other night for those TOOL fans out there:
"Lost Keys" "Rosetta Stoned" "Stinkfist" "Fort Six And 2" "The Pot" "Jambi" "Schism" "Eon Blue Apocalypse" "The Patient" "Sober" "Lateralus" "Vicarious" "AEnima" |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
My reaction to BLD, to be clear, doesn't really have to do with this thread so much as it is an accumulation of things. Besides this thread, we've had:
"does anyone really care about Massive Attack anymore? Hasn't everything they've released in the last 10 years been shit? well, i still pay to see newOrder so my reasoning is flawed. and i didn't buy tickets but from what i hear, it's not even sold out yet. tell me how wack it was in the morning." "this isn't the board i come to when i want to discuss hip hop. threads about Jay Dee were everywhere since he died and many mp3 blogs had wonderful tributes to him. what's the point of regurgitating everything you read on the web in this forum? Horses for Courses, as the saying goes. yes jay dee was great(ish), it's sad he died, Donuts is exciting and disappointing all wrapped in one crunchy tablet. NEXT!" "this is all about Ego and How You Look rather than how good or creative you are at mixing. " "MP3's are everywhere and generally can be had for no money. I have enough online resources to find every track I want without having to pay a penny." I don't give a shit how many posts he has, how long he's been here, or what his username used to be. He's a prick. And lastly, any time someone posts something along the lines of, "I'm just sitting here laughing at how much I pissed everyone off," that doesn't really help my opinion of them. |

Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
You know what? I stand by my formed opinion of you with the basis that you come accross as an arrogant prick, but lord knows I've known a few internet miscommunications in my day, and I am totally up for meeting any dirt who comes out my way. If you are going to be out this way, I'm more than willing to revise my opinion. All dirts welcome at Adam's. As of June 1st I'll be moving to the front of my building, and have an ocean view. Bring your laptop and throw down.

and now you're rehasing someone else's joke! keep trying!
|
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
and now you're still pissed in a tool thread.
it's almost like a tourist attraction. "look dear, a Tool thread. oooh, i heard they become enraged and petulant for minimal reasons. probably becuse of their sensitive nature and refusal to accept that maynard hates every single one of them. take a picture" |
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
Try using your head. Read what I said about BLD: that my irritation was more an accumulation of things than related to this particular post. And does it sound like I'm still pissed at him? Stimp's comment was pretty lame, and I called him on it because it pissed me off. He knows I respect him, I'm over it. The only issue left is that you're a twat, and nothing in or outside this thread is likely to fix that. You made that clear way back when in your idiotic posts about dub music. And you know what? There's a difference between being pissed and thinking you are an idiot.
|
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
what, that i didnt like it?
|
Re: TOOL live @ The Paramount (Seattle)
No, I wouldn't dislike someone for that. And you know what? I should retract that. Because I can't find the quote in the archives (it might have been pre-crash), and I'm reluctant to paraphrase when I don't remember what you actually said.
My bad. Whole thing. I take it all back. BLD had pissed me off with his saying that the only reason to use vinyl was an ego thing, and that coloured my perception of his subsequent posts, some of which may have been good-natured ribbing that I missed. Then people chiming in this thread to "laugh at the tool fans," was pretty lame, and increased my irritation, because our irritation was pretty much wholly justified, and laughing AT someone who's pissed off and has a legitimate reason to be is a poor thing to do, and not something many of you would likely do in real life, at least not as overtly/in the same tone. Not a good way to deal with people. However, neither was anything I did. So, BLD, Stimp, Dubman, I'm sorry. And, dubman, I regret saying you're an idiot because I can't actually recall what made me think so. I certainly think you came accross as one in this thread, but, I did too, so I don't think you're an idiot. You have been one here. :p :D |
