Tool - 10.000 days
Just started listening to it but it already sounds like it's one of their better albums.
And the artwork! It has stereoscopic lenses attached to it and the inner art work is all in 3D. :D |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
Upon further reflection:
I honestly believe this to be the greatest album I've ever heard, by a fairly wide margin. I'm 100% sincere. I'm in about the fifth stage of increasing orders of magnitude of love for this CD. People who don't like it, you're wrong. I understand, because it rewards patience and repeated listening like nothing else, but, jesus, man, you're still wrong. |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
i'm totally in love with Tool, and the new album is so fantastic, blew me out of my socks right away.
Going to see them in Ahoy, Rotterdam nov. 9th :D i can't wait! :D |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
oh my god lou i saw them in august and it was the best show i've ever seen
absolutely euphoric |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
:) Adam! I believe you, we have several shows of them on video, and last week i got euphoric watching-listening-dancing-painting-it's the same feeling i get from Underworld live at their best, like Moaner on the first night in Tilburg last year.
I am so impressed by Adam Jones, who isn't only the guitarplayer, but who also makes the clips for Tool. Multitalented in a Big way! |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
Saw them in May once, then travelled for a whole night by bus with Irene (fellow ex-dirt, BlackMoon, who introduced them to me 5 years ago) to see them again in Barcelona.... and I'm flying from Holland to see them again in Madrid in November. I think Adam's description fits very well and should be printed in cards we'd have to hand to people when they show dislike towards TooL's music.
Got the bootleg I linked somewhere here in my ipod and I always get the chills with Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned. Btw, tryin to play Justin Chancelor's basslines makes you notice how skilled the folk is. Playing Schism's bassline is a real challenge, having in mind he's the most unnoticed band member.. |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
mmmm yes the bass!!! and the drum :D
edit: i think he's the best bassist i've ever heard (listening to Rosetta Stoned for the xd time, through my sennheisers, mannnnnn so fucking good) edit 2: the text is weirdest ever to say the least ;) edit 3: how come Vicarious sounded so familiar from the first time i heard it? |
Re: Tool - 10.000 days
You guys think we might convince Rick to play Rowla with Tool's bassist and drummer?

Re: Tool - 10.000 days
That sense of familiarity, lou, pervades the whole album, for me. I feel like all the previous albums were preparing me for this one. The experience of every moment refers to, but surpasses, all prior Tool moments.

Re: Tool - 10.000 days
that must be it :) you're so right! It really feels like everything has come together, so familiar as if i have been listening to it since my childhood. Shivers up and down my spine :D

Re: Tool - 10.000 days
I'm going to listen to this

Re: Tool - 10.000 days
Give it time. Most people I know are underwhelmed on their first few listens.

Re: Tool - 10.000 days
I bought it 2 weeks ago, I like it a lot. It's more tribal ambianced than the others, especially because of the percussion used on some tracks.
