Bullshit by the way, I know that he played the Arches a couple of years ago at Pressure...

Fatboy Slim is to headline a summer concert on the banks of Loch Ness, it was revealed today.

DJ Norman Cook has announced plans to hold the June gig for an estimated 20,000 fans outside the village of Dores near Inverness.

He has previously staged huge shows on the beach of his home city Brighton and Rio de Janeiro.

The one-off concert, also featuring Mylo and Carl Cox, will make up for the lack of a Glastonbury festival this year, according to the dance star.

He said: “We needed something to do on Glastonbury weekend, and I couldn’t think of a more suitable caper.”

It will be the first time Loch Ness, famous for its legendary monster, has hosted such an event.

The site, described by Cook as a “beauty” was chosen after plans to hold another party on Brighton Beach fell through.

Around 250,000 revellers turned up for the Big Beach Boutique show in 2002.

It is the first Scottish date in eight years for Cook, who is married to TV presenter Zoe Ball.

He said: “The Celts are renowned for their partyability, and we’ve got some cracking special guests on the bill.”

The gig will coincide with the release of a Fatboy Slim greatest hits album, likely to feature anthems such as The Rockafeller Skank and Praise You.

A dedicated coach service will transport fans to and from the venue.

Organisers Slingshot and Loudsound said: “This is the first time Fatboy Slim has played in Scotland for eight years so where better than historic Loch Ness in the Highlands to stage what will be one almighty, Nessie-stirring, celebration.”

Tickets for the June 24 show go on sale on Friday.

Carl Cox, Mylo and Fatboy?! Should be an entertaining show...it's an interesting pairing, as Cox represents classic techno, Fatboy sort of the big-beat/ electronica phase of the late 90's and Mylo is today's latest dance/rock posterboy.

It's his foot that's big, not his fingers. Otherwise he'd be called BigAppendages, or maybe just Big. Duh.

Making the journey tonight :) Weather looks.. iffy. Got a white dust-suit ready for the mud and my survival skills proven at last year's Glastonbury. Rock on

Had an absolute ball, and the weather was excellent - even got a tan. The main stage was beautifully situated with the loch stretching away over the horizon behind it with the sides of the glen rising high above us.
Fatboy Slim played a tremendous set, it was like a big celebration - always a pleasure :)

The next time you hippies throw a festival up here, do me a favour. Clean up after yourself! And stop throwing shit into the loch! That's my home, man.

By the way, I have some great pics of people having a swim with no clothes on...you know, from under the water. Haha - you suckers didn't know i was down there, did you. PM me for details.
