Matt Val, anyone?
Where and how were they listed? I didn't see a one. I did a couple of searches and came up short. Tried the UK pages, nothing again.

Just wait... they will come back i'm sure!:)
I guess that the seller may have another 100-200 copies.
But i'm really hoping for single auctions that run over the whole day so that everyone gets a chance!;)

This has been highlighted in the Collectors Corner thread already so yes we've seen the CDs and Dirts have been buying them.

well lets hope they bring some more out or we'll have to pay $119 for this one

Re: ebay live discs £15!!!

I dont feel any sympathy for this guy at all. He's already sold 3 copies on ebay for vastly inflated prices and this is the 4th. How he got 4 copies I dont know but this should stop him selling any more at these crazy prices. $119 is the starting price and we know one sold for $340. Whoever paid that must be feeling pretty sheepish now.

Re: ebay live discs £15!!!

could be an experiment for now..
just to see how it works..

i used to help out with the
website for the band 'kmfdm'
(an industrial rock group)..

and they experimented with
selling items via their website,
and also used ebay....for some
things it was better to use ebay,
and for other items it was better
to use their own website directly..
they ended up having a totally
different site, the kmfdm store
just to buy things...

we'll have to see how it works out..

IMO it would be (and perhaps is anyways) a bit of cheating UWs japanese fans: they bought an "exclusive" item directly at the gig! if it would be sold on uwlive it would be an official release and thus a) cheating the fans b) count as an "full live album" that would be hyped by the press and all...

so as i see it: selling a few copies over ebay is just for helping out us die-hard fans (after all: the hints to look on ebay were only ever on karls diary & the member section - and here of course), to spare anyone of us buying the waaaay overpriced copies.

Hey gang - Thought I'd show you guys this - I found a live album on ebay called "Wonderful Wonderful" dont know if it's a bootleg or not, but to be honest, knowing the seller "Second Sounds" they're an actual store, so im guessing this could be the real deal and we just dont know about it??

Anyway - I put a bid on it just to see what the deal was, but all you collectors feel free to outbid, i just wanted to see what it was...

That would be nice. I do have a life I try to attend occasionaly rather than spending days at a time waiting for that 1 hour window to pick up a disc from ebay.

Wonderful Wonderful is a bootleg with dodgy artwork. I can't remember for now what gig it was, one of the german ones I think. This was sold on recordfairs a few years back. I never was tempted to buy it. I believe it was by the same bootleg label that did the B-side cds.

I agree - don't forget dirtyradio broadcast the set repeatedly and now we're given the chance - with prior warning - to get packaged CDs. Even if neither opportunity had presented itself, I could have been sanguine: this recording will mean more to Japanese fans who were at (or couldn't make it to) this gig, and would have written it off as such because I'm not an obsessive must-have-it-all fan. I did really want this one though, and went out of my way to get it.

I sympathise with you time-displaced dirts though. Given the demand, this is difficult for you.

oh im sorry that I didnt message everyone here personally about the availability of a handful of cds.

You know what? I told all the dirts i know. and they bought them. I think I did a good job.

Get the hell off my back.

Feel the love? Gimme a break. I told who I know and they bought them. I feel good because the Dirts I know bought the CDs. I couldnt have done any more. I didnt have any more knowledge about this than you did.

Karl himself told you to watch ebay and i was one of the people doing so. Of the initial 20 on sale, 13 at least went to people belonging to this forum. I think I did a good job. If you want to bitch to me because I didnt tell you personally then thats your problem.

I didnt have any inside knowledge of this and I was one of the lucky ones because I was browsing ebay at the time. If you want one I suggest you keep looking at ebay instead of complaining about the lack of "dirty love".

All I can say is, keep watching ebay.

My personal view, is that they cant legally sell them thru underworldlive.com so this is the next best thing.

hey stimpee,

no worries here... yeah - it's a bummer - and yeah i'd really love to get my mitts on one of them - but it's an aimless frustration - and i can't see how or why it would be directed at any one in particular...

it's cool that there are some extras to sell - and it's just a fact of life that you can't always get what you want...

i'm just hoping if they have more to sell that I am not in the middle of my r.e.m. state when they go on sale next time...

cheers - rik

stage 4 no less!

well, i've set the search to notify me of anything new daily, and i'm checking every other hour or so to see if any new ones are popping up.

goddamnit, i am READY.

and as for this exclusivity to the japanese fans... well, to put it nicely, i dont know what the worth is in that. you guys were there. not only do you get the accompanying cd, but you had the experience. i dont give toss whose feelings are going to get hurt if extra copies are sold to those who couldnt make it at all, because you guys had the best version of everything.

the only objection to this practice of giving us dirts what we would gladly shell out $28+ for would be to retain this super-exclusive dick club to feel special.

rrr..

So tell me - what would you do if you walked into a record shop and saw there were 10 copies of M.E./The Hump for sale at, say, £10 each, for a limited time only? Would you buy one then text your friends who were also collectors and let them know about it? Or would you hold back and post a thread on Dirty with the address of the store, in the knowledge that anyone who was neither friend nor Dirt could walk into that store and buy the lot within the next 5 minutes?

Not logical, your argument, is it?

First we had people moaning that the Tokyo Gig was going to available in Japan only. So UW tried to stream it live and ended up streaming Osaka Live instead. Ahh, but that wasn't good enough, cos some people had missed them.

Then there was the fact that one or two Dirts had managed to get hold of a rip of the Tokyo gig but weren't putting up links to it on the forum, (although if anyone had read between the lines, there may well have been ways of "sharing the Dirty Love" at the time had they bothered to think laterally at the time and talk to people). But that wasnt good enough.

So then there was a WHOLE WEEKEND of the Tokyo gig (and some other rare gigs) being streamed on Dirty Radio. But that wasn't good enough, cos some people missed that.

Now the band are releasing a limited number - we don't know how many - of the cd's through eBay to enable fans to buy them at a fair market price and avoid the ridiculous prices that have been knocking about on eBay. But that's not good enough either.

As one of the oldest members of the forum age-wise, I look to some of you youngsters and think to myself "you are going to be the future of Dirty and the UW fan movement. In years to come people will be looking to you to be running this place, relying on you for guidance in all matters UW."

And then I think how glad I am I will be most likely be dead by the time that happens. :D

Quickly as I don't have much time...I'm ALWAYS thankful for what we are given. I think my comment was completely misconstrued. I in no way *meant* to imply anything other than this:

I was excited, and cornfused about how to find/ get the discs. Stimps reply was along the lines of: "oh yeah, we knew about these and had already been talking about them on another part of the forum..."

Not feeling the dirty love=empathy towards us who find out about things after the fact...

Was never complaining (nor did I mean to sound that way) Just excited and frustrated and bummed at the same time. Always appreciate and always try to say thank you what we are given/ get. Always try to say thank you SPECIFICALLY to STimp for his hard work getting out the material.

Wow was in response to feeling absolutely crushed and overwhelmed at the invective. etc... sensitive buggers ain't we?

Well, it was in the Collectors Corner thread on this very forum. Its the most popular thread in the Underworld forum, with over 275 replies so I thought most people would be reading it.

erm... only if im actually doing that. On RTSR I am actively getting material out and work quite hard on it. Here at dirty I just pass on information. But with the ebay stuff the CDs were gone in a flash. Then mark3 advertised the fact the CDs had been on ebay before I got a chance to pass on the information.

Keep looking.

Surely its just a bonus having it on hard copy, i've got the files from a lovely person here and im quite happy with that. if it was a new record or something that hadn't been repeatidly broadcast for us to get, then i'd be annoyed!
