T In The Park 2006
Anyone interested should keep an eye on www.tinthepark.com or www.festivals.co.uk as there's a press conference in Glasgow in half an hour. Ticketing details and some of the lineup will be announced, I'll copy and paste into this thread as soon as I see anything.

Re: T In The Park 2006
Straight from the website:
Never before has there been such eager anticipation for T in the Park to launch and we're telling YOU before anyone else what's happening so here goes... It is with the utmost pleasure that festival organisers Big Day Out Ltd and founding partners Tennent's Lager announce the first of the international line-up and the news on how, where and when to purchase tickets for the festival at Balado, near Kinross, Scotland.... At a packed media launch today, festival organiser Geoff Ellis will announce that American funk-rock heroes and RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS will headline the festival on SATURDAY 8th July. Seminal British music icons THE WHO, whose guitar legend Pete Townshend vowed to return to the festival after performing at last year's festival with Rachel Fuller, will bring the curtain down on SUNDAY 9th July. THE hottest band on the planet right now, the record-smashing, punk-pop northerners ARCTIC MONKEYS will make a welcome debut, almost a year to the day they performed at the world famous King Tut's Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow. Leeds boys, KAISER CHIEFS who have rocketed to stardom in just 12 months and Iceland's SIGUR ROS are also confirmed. From the hometurf... legendary rockers PRIMAL SCREAM will headline the King Tut's Tent on Sunday, their 3rd visit to T in the Park. As if that ain't enough, THE ORDINARY BOYS return after Preston waxed lyrical about his love of playing to Balado. The Slam Tent celebrates 10 years at the festival, first up announcing Chicago house impresario FELIX DA HOUSECAT on Sunday and as well of course, the SLAM boys themselves. For more info on the event or to take a look back at last year's history, click HERE. Many many more artists will be confirmed in the coming weeks. TICKETS go on sale this FRIDAY 17TH FEBRUARY at 9am. Tickets are available by clicking HERE or by calling Ticketmaster on 0870 169 0100 or in person at select official outlets (click HERE to check which are our OFFICIAL outlets and please DO NOT buy from unofficial sources). Remember that 20,000 of you snapped up the limited quantity of tickets that went on sale last July, a day after the 2005 event, so you'd better be quick come Friday... Near or far, home or abroad, thanks to everyone who has registered for tinthepark.com and welcome to T in the Park 2006... its going to be quite a trip. |

Re: T In The Park 2006
Franz Ferdinand added to main stage Saturday behind the Chilli Peppers:
http://www.efestivals.co.uk/news/060215d.shtml Good news, mean I'll be able to stay away from the main stage on the Saturday for the last few hours of the evening :) |
Re: T In The Park 2006
OK I got my tickets and there's a good squad of eight of us going in all :) Anyone else here lucky? If you weren't and you still want to go - I'm 99.9% certain there will be an allocation of tickets re-released numbering in the thousands because of duplicate orders being cancelled, similar to Glastonbury last two years. Also rumours of an increase in capacity. Hold tight. :)

http://www.ticketmaster.co.uk/artist..._header_search
Looks suspiciously like they're trickling back a few at a time into supply rather than as one block (the "find tickets" link as opposed to "none on sale" like the other ticket types. I've not been able to get a screen up to enter credit card details but any of you guys after a ticket would do well to keep an eye on ticketmaster. Also have a look at seetickets.net and wayahead.com as I believe people were successful on there. |
Re: T In The Park 2006
There have been a couple of people saying in circles that they've managed to get tickets. This link to get past the queue on the site is getting bandied about.

Re: T In The Park 2006
Yeah I've seen several reports now of being having been successful getting one and occasionally two tickets from ticketmaster - very best of luck guys.

Re: T In The Park 2006
Just got this niblet in a Soma newsletter:
And then we got a couple of wee sneaky T in the Park announcements making the rounds this Weekend....I do believe we’re announcing in the Evening Times Today, The Daily Record Tomorrow morning, and then a wee extra special one we’re well chuffed with, live on PETE TONG’s show Tomorrow night! Currently scouring for news of who it is. edit: Appears to be Rob Da Bank plus My Robot Friend who is already booked (clever wee live show). http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/lo/features/7022253.html |
Re: T In The Park 2006
The Orb got announced to play a best of set on the Essential Mix at the weekend :) Never really gotten into them so will perhaps need some guidance on how to acquaint myself with Orb music - I'll start a thread now.

Re: T In The Park 2006
Managed to uncover the fact that !!! will play as part of my quick trawl across the 'net, so it'll be announced soon - looking forward to that :) Latest lineup though:

Re: T In The Park 2006
Yayyyyy.. 1 week to go...
Sorry I didn't reply Ally. Not check the forums for a while. My work asked me go abroad this week and miss T in the Park. "No" was the simple reply. Ain't no way I'm missing The Orb  Loved them since hearing their 1st session on John Peel show and never seen them yet. :) |
