Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
so, can someone explain this to me? an animal collective rip-off with a shite singer? a couple of brooklynites stuck on lsd? the part of the polyphonic spree that didn't end up in the madhouse?
worst record i have listened to in months. |
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
you miserable old bollocks. i liked it.

Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
you like piercing your eardrums too, don't you? :)

Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
I can't stand the voice.
The guitars are fine but - ewwww. That voice makes me want to bang my head on the desk to make it stop. |
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
these days it's cool to have a "weird" singer. you can tell everyone it's "expressionistic" and "arty" and get a high rating on peeforkmedia
|
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Aint heard much by them, arent they this years apparant big new thing?
|
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Honestly how are they any different than any other band from the wash of indie music out there on the recommend board of urban outfitter stores?
Get your superman logo blue tee, your brown ben sherman pants and pick your favorite. |

The mass media always gets a hard on for indie bands with good production values.
I like the CD. However the guys voice does take some getting used to. However on the songs that they blow. They blow hard. I.E. The last minute and a half of the last song on the cd. |
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
They're so 2005. :D
They're ok. Probably the most hyped up band I every got a cd from that was mailed from the lead singer's house. I like the music a lot, don't really pay attention to the vocals (yeah it can be hard not to!) random Talking Heads mention |

only heard one of their tracks so far and wasn't that impressed.

Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Got this album about 6 or 8 months ago and absolutley fell in love... it got nonstop play for awhile and still finds itself crawling back to the CD player on a regular occasion.
When and where did this start getting hyped? I'm pretty out of tune with the pop culture machine... |
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
getting a 9.0 on pitchfork is pretty much a hype (also: music mags etc.) ;)

Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
Eikman-
Listen to it 5 or 6 times and then tell me "the skin of my yellow country teeth" doesn't stick in your skull like bubble gum. I'd say they sound like early REM at some places with a bit of Talking heads thrown in for good measure. Don't forget Micheal Stipe can't sing worth a crap either... crank! |

it's soooooo bad... Odd enough (or boviously enough) is a bomb in Mexico. ugh..!! |
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
They need more hand clapping and yeah saying.

Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
I like them. Its actually useable music. But I know that my taste is nothing more than playing favorites from a large group indie bands that don't deserve a large amount of distinguished praise or heated ire either way.
Diamond Night's Popcicle, however, really begs for a cleansing of the scene. Listed as one of the recommended albums of 2005 off the Urban Outfitters website, its the worst dregs of Eddie Money and Loverboy style 80's rock. I hated that shit then and I hate it now. |
Re: Clap Your Hands Say Yeah
I really like the record too.
Eikman is a poo. |
