The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

all you have to do is vote for one of the 20 track title suggestions...which do you think would most suit an Underworld song...?

the winner of this poll wins some Underworld goodies from my stash...

none of these tracks are going to be used by Underworld (unless they want to i suppose), but this poll is the culmination of the Annual UW 2005 Poll in which the last question was to name an Underworld Track...

just vote for the one you like the sound of best...

out of interest - i didn't add one my self and these are the top 20 of all posted...not all that were posted

if you like mine best let me know - i came up with 'Airport Taxi' :p

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

Well... I misread "gro-bag" as "giro-bag", which I would have voted for.

My innate sense of fair play forbids me from voting for my own, of course.

I like "Air-O" cos it sound like one of UW's phonetic titles like Ess Gee. (Mmm... Aeros.)

I voted for "Three tickets" because it sounds like a title that could have come out of one of Karl's sojourns round Essex (either from a photo or a snippet of overheard conversation).

Since when was a little bit of merchandise enough to shelve a lawyer's scruples? I thought the going rate for a bit of palm greasery was a bit higher. I'll have to put that old Mogwai tshirt aside in case I ever get into trouble... ;)

Sounds like a fair fee - a Mogwai shirt.

Hope it never comes to that though, mate - I do mostly crime. ;)

i can't be sleazy enough to vote for mine, despite the horrible typo you did that destroyed the whole idea behind the title.

matt. MATT.

'ey, there's a couple okay ones in here this year.. sorta

edit: well, everyone else is voting for theirs... (mumble mumble)

Nah, I didn't vote for mine. Mine didn't even make it to the list, heh. But that's okay, it was pretty dumb. I like some of these. I voted for "Reign of Clouds" because I like the way it sounds, but it might not be an Underworld type of title. "Three Tickets" and "Rybka" are kind of interesting.

Paper Dream is most UW-ish in my opinion.

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

Yes, some of these are very nice! But if you were like me, you went overboard with trying to be clever wink-wink big-wordie (just like that was!). But since UW tracknames are apparently randomly named, that might be fine. Who came up with "rybkha"? That seems very "Rowla"-like (is it made up of two words, like cROW LAne? i could see UW using that:)

i like it too, but library weather and feeding the elephants also sound karl-ish.

by the way, rybka means "small fish" in Czech (a nice one, though...) i'm not the one who found it, but i like it too...

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

if UW named songs after a lyric more often, then Anonymous Turnover Blueboy would be excellent. Actually that sounds more like In the Belly of St. Paul part 2. I don't know.

I voted for my own. :D

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

i can't even remember what i came up with!

to vote, i eliminated ones that sounded like they were trying too hard or reminded me of a title in the first place...

so, the opposite of Beaucoup Fish, then? :p

Yeah, some of these (my own included :o ) are kinda contrived, but also nice-n-random. It would crack me up if R&K would comment on these, or better, use them for track titles!

Well... not exactly the opposite, Beaucoup Fish being "A lot of" Fish...

By the way, wouldn't it be nice & interesting that a few more Dirties vote for this poll?

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

It'd be interesting to see one or two of these titles actually used by Underworld. I honestly think Paper Dream sounds like an UW song title.

please no, i have never heard an underworld worthy tracktitle on this board, ok maybe for a riverrun track but definitely not for an album

if they ever release a track called 'always loved a film' i'll burn my whole uw collection...

Negatroid. When UW last played the track as a "work in progress" on dirtyradio last year, Rick said: "For the hardcore spotters that was 'always loved a film'", (which they played at Electraglide 2003), and "now it's something about silver boots".;)

we were already using that name a few days after we got that japan live clip, long before it was mentioned on the webcast

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

I'm pretty sure that alwayslovedafilm is originally a UW title- and I like my song title, snackstop (stopsnack), personally, and I think that "paper dream" is pretty sweet as well, so I think that there are some good titles for UW songs on this board.

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

So Matt, are you having a second round? Like all titles with 4 votes or more into the second round? this poll was a bit big thats all.

big screen satellite 02-03-2006 09:12 AM

Re: The UW Poll POLL of Song Titles

i might do actually...polls are my thing...

and this poll will end tonight (3rd February 2006), if the dating system is right...ie US backwards...(if not i'll officially end it anyway....)

Anyhow i'll take the top 4 or 5 most voted for, depending upon the % splits and we'll determine a winner from that....

so its gonna be Paper Dream and 3 or 4 others battling it out in a 5 day poll or something...see new thread when i start it....

POLLTASTIC....
