Before you go ahead and ask what many have asked before, which is "When are Underworld gonna play ?" or "Are Underworld gonna play this year/any time soon?", please take into consideration, that ANY TOUR DATES WILL BE POSTED AT THE TOP OF THIS FORUM IN A STICKY THREAD (a bit like this one).

As of right now, Underworld have announced summer tour dates for 2008. Please keep coming back to check, as this is the most likely place to find them!

Meanwhile, stick around and check out the rest of the forums and contribute words somewhere. Why not start in the noise forum and introduce yourselves?

I read that Underworld are gonna play the Russian Space Station in July...but you have to go to some gig in Japan to sign up for the Tickets which then get sent to you about two weeks later

Underworld just confirmed that they are in fact, playing at Dirty0900's house but that not even he will be allowed to attend as the entire show will be webcast solely to a video-to-text description service.

Technically, I should lock this thread as it is basically an announcement thread but you seem to be having fun so I won't. If anyone wants to announce that Underworld are playing at my house dressed as the two halves of a pantomime horse then help yourselves.

anyway I think the next post or thread that does ask when 'underworld are gonna play my house / arse...' we should flame them to bits for being lazy, as that's what most of these 1 post newbies tend to be (no offence, like)...

all of the info on this kinda thing is fairly easily found...especially as we now have this sticky thread...

not wanting to condone flaming but really lazy people deserve a flaming

yea - I just heard about this 'secret' gig over on another MB

it also included UNKLEsounds in the list of performers

the head of the UKNLE MB confirmed that they're not involved in the show whatsoever, and that other people on the list are playing in different places that night

...so yea - it's fake

Im guessing a UK/US tour next year with an album. Though US dirts, im not trying to be nasty, but how many gigs would UW do in the States? Im not sure at all how big they are over there compared to in Japan/Uk etc, but if they have no market they wont really tour anywhere [imo] apart from the main places like NYC,LA etc.

Well, I was looking over the history of U/W tour dates in the USA the other day, and each time they come through (only about 3 times, IIRC), they only played about 5-10 gigs. So yeah, not many.

If they do come, though, I'll probably fly to the Mainland to see them. Hell, I'd probably even fly out to Japan to catch one there. If I'd known about Electraglide last year, I probably would've gone.

Erm, to cut a long story short and not wishing to brag I am in Rio at the moment and want to go and see Underworld in Sao Paulo. I know that they are playing in Rio but I will not be here for that. I am by myself so if anybody is up for it a reply would be great so I could meet up with someone. Afterall its a bit crap a 6 hour bus journey each way so I can see Underworld by myself.

Does anyone know if they are actually going to play in England this year? With the new album out this year I would of thought they would. They hanv't been at creamfields, for about..what..2-3 years now, so I think they are due for another visit. Hope they are, I want to go creafields this year but I also really want to see underworld, whether that means a road trip though europe of not :D

Uk dates are happening this year as said by Karl on a recent radio broadcast:)

Last UK date was the dire Global Gathering festival with a soundsystem that was worse then my PC speakers.

Wouldn't that be the International Space Station then? The Russian Space Station got burnt up a few years ago, that'd be a disaster of a gig, you fly up there, and then find out the venue's been torched :eek:

Are they playing in Australia?

They are in Japan in Nov and i am tempted to go over there, but they need to come back to Oz and hang out again. End the year is perfect to escape the Northern winter ... and they can catch up with John in 3D instead of down the wire :)

weeeee I got my ticket for the November Cocoon gig today. :D Weekend starts great. I already feared I wouldn't get a ticket anymore because I read that the gig is sold out but 3 days ago I got an info mail from Cocoon saying that extra tickets are now available and was able to purchase 6 for my mates and myself. I look soooooo forward to it. I also managed to get the friday off so this will be a memorable evening. :cool:

God, I hope so. You know, I get the feeling people sometimes write off Australia for shows because the population is so small and it's pretty far from everywhere, so getting the show there is expensive, and there's some doubt as to whether it'll make money. But there is a very important fact to be considered: Australians will pay any amount of money to see an international band.

Example? Coldplay sold out three concerts in Sydney (and other cities, but we'll focus on Sydney), each of which had 12,000 people paying $120 for their ticket (actually the seats at the very back were $87, so, conservative estimate, $100 per person.) Don't bother trying to do the math in your head because I'm going to tell you now - that's 3.6 MILLION DOLLARS. In THREE NIGHTS.

I honestly don't get how you could put on a show that cost more than that without making a new one from scratch. And I'm not counting the equivalent dough from the other capitals.

here's a hint to get you started: do you know
- how much a 3-day the rent (probably 4, to allow for installation) is for a venue that holds 12'000 people?
- how much security/ambulance/helpers cost are for said venue?
- how much it costs to haul a live show (read: PA, lights, music equipment, and not to forget the crew) across the planet? in your case: flights from england to australia?


think about stuff like that, and you'll have to deduct quite some dollars from your 3.6 mio.

Just for info if UW get on the BDO second announcement tickets are onsale today. The sales via www.bigdayout.com have sold out but more are available via http://www.ticketmaster.com.au/promo/pr5l45 at 9am.

There will also 10000 available in the ballot system via the bigdayout site as they did last year.

What a bummer...European gigs have been cancelled due to illness which of course also affects the show in Frankfurt I have my tickets for already. This is so sad because I looked forward to it a lot. :( Hope he feels better soon and they announce another date soon.
