yeah that's the standout bit for me too. all these tracks seem to naturally go together - I think everyone's linked "Sola Sistim" and "Dune" but I never realized "Push Downstairs" was in the same vein


also for those wondering the email does say Drift Episode 5 is coming...next week. I guess they didn't finish the track in time :)

Yes, Push Downstairs really fits in the mix. Over the long period over the forums I realised some questions and confusion about the track from a group of the well respected members and some of my friends about Push Downstairs. Their point was like "Push Downstairs is really weak track, should not been on the album and so on..." I never took a part in the discussion, but I can say that I like this track a lot and Im happy that it is on this mix. It is some sort of answer? from UW HQ to these discussions? I dunno, but overall this mix is perfect blend for chilled Underworld. Happy listening dirties.

Also: please post these new versions of Cups, Trim etc. -- anything from these inbetween Drift sessions -- on iTunes because we would love to BUY THEM.

This is a beautiful mix and ambient underworld is always a joy, but why YouTube only? I assume possibly a rights issue, but Mixcloud would have been just the same, and about the same sound quality and easier to keep track of where all the extra releases are.

music is nice, the vocals plastered over the top don't really fit to me

I agree. The extremely forward-in-the-mix vocals of Push Downstairs have never sounded right to me, although they're amazing on Push Upstairs. I normally wouldn't presume to backseat drive Rick but this one's always felt like an instrumental would be an improvement, or maybe processing Karl's voice differently to blend in more with the music.

it also made me re-evaluate Push Downstairs. i don't think i was ever a hater, more confused at its inclusion/repeat on the album itself. even then I've always liked it.


it's aged better than kittens anyway.

was hoping for episode 5 this week, but these killer versions of Cups and Trim are just as good. best WOUW mix by far

anyways, just what we needed to chill out to. could have used some longer transitions,
but good enough.

always liked push downstairs, and thought it was a good counterpart to the upstairs.

We'll, it's pleasant, but I'm not overwhelmed. The transitions aren't subtle, the dub versions not that interesting and the new Trim is basically a canned beat on top. I like it, but a mixcloud rip will suffice.

P.S. I've always been okay with "Push Downstairs"...felt it supported the concept of BF of miscommunication. If i'd swap it out, i'd be with "Please Help Me/ Cappe Fffuno", emphasis on the latter.
