I was gonna say maybe another Riverrun thing. Maybe audio/visual too, although possibly just taking too much from the video. Exciting, anyway, I love how utterly odd some of those tracks sound.

THE NEW TRACKS. all of this new material is going to be killer. so many off kilter sounds and vocals, this is the most experimental they've been for a long time.

as for what this whole DRIFT thing might be, what if they do a new radio show of sorts for every thursday? seems a bit unconventional but they have expressed interest in continuing to do the shows again from reading a couple of the barbara barbara interviews. it could instead be new tracks every thursday, but whatever it is, i'm absolutely excited.

Actually, that would make more sense. I read 'ep1' as extended play, hence with thinking of something like Riverrun. But maybe it means episode 1 which is more like a radio broadcast. Guess we will find out soon :)

Just hope I can buy new tracks rather than a dodgy youtube rip.

it looks like the DRIFT project is going to act as Underworld's new medium for releasing tracks; a new song every Thursday perhaps. the version of Another Silent Way that was released is dubbed as the (Film Edit) which has a quick fade-out at the end. i can recall receiving the same result when shazaming the track in the trailer before the track release. i'm sure it'll make its way to all digital retailers soon.

REALLY loving this new tune, a proper slice of techno...and some London gigs too. A perfect start to the day. Never been to that venue, fingers crossed for getting a couple of tickets. It does feel like a bit of a riverrun period.

Not sure about these 9pm - 4am shows (way past my bedtime).

When I first saw the post earlier, it looked like only spotify and amazon music, but at least I can buy the mp3 for now (until the 12" full version comes out...nudge nudge wink wink).

I just want to have a physical release, the new shows read like they’re going to be different from the current static set. Shame it’s only London for UK. Manchester gig could be an indication.

Got it on Napster already.i also hope for an extended mix with more drums and crazy sound...the faded ending has some nice acid bleeps that make me feel like this would mix well with the sireny live versions of NUXX.
Edit version is too short, but for now I'm just putting track on loop repeat

Crikey, this is acidy, more than they've been since the start of Mk II. Loving all the odd noises blurting in, and all the vocal harmonies which seem to be picking up where 'If Rah' left off. Classic Underworld and new at the same time.

God I hope we get a nice physical issue of all these new tracks at some point. They still feel a bit 'homeless' at the minute. The fact that the track's an edit bodes well in that regard I suppose.

Being a film edit obviously means we will get a full length version at a later date. Loving what I am hearing so far. Back to proper techno. Got an acid vibe. This will certainly rock live.

So two out of the three London shows are on "stupid o' clock" late. R&K are around the 60 mark now and plenty of their fans are..."mature" too. I think when you're young, then spending all night in a club seems cool. But after that...not so much, I wonder if the result will be a surge for the 'early' show tickets. The only plus side is that there are all-night tubes these days. I wish we had had that in the 90's and 00's.


I've been to this venue before. The tiny digital sound dropouts (especially during the DJ set before the band) really annoyed me, but didn't seem to annoy anyone else. And that annoyed me even more! The venue space is nice though.


Presumably the tickets won't be on the big sites like Ticketmaster or Gigs & Tours. I'm guessing it's going to be reasonably discreet on Monday. There will still be loads of disappointed people though, I imagine.


The track is pretty good (not quite A-grade though), and as already mentioned, NUXX seems an appropriate comparison. I won't pay for it unless it's the full version though.

It starts off a bit slow for me, but once it gets going it is a+ underworld for me. That rising tension at the end is incredible to me. Being a motorsports fan and having gone to a couple drift events this track does that same thing dark train does in really accurately capturing the sounds and vibe of the subject. The same way the echo on the tch sound of 'ride the train's echoes torecrate the sound of a train rolling over track junctions they manage to imitate the sound of tires ripping and engines revving up to red line and turbos chirping. It really really does it for me.

I really like it but I have not been listening to it much. I am too lazy to put a single tune on and then 4 mins later have to think about that I want to listen to next (unless I put it on repeat which I don't like doing or unless it's a nice piece of shiny vinyl!). I was hoping for the second tune today and maybe a third next week - then I would stick them all together and would be more likely to listen to them! Same thing happened with Brilliant Yes etc and that other new tune you can't buy.

Was the live version longer?

agreed with the chem bros sentiment. not really into it. it's not bad, which is a relief, but it's hard to find the underworld in it.
