u/w in southamerica

Hello,

Underworld might/will be playing in peru, chile and argentina as creamfields' headliners. They're confirmed in buenos aires (november 9) and supposedly they'll be playing here (chile) the 8th. One of my mates in peru works in evenpro, a promoter there, and he told me some promoters are still working on it.

Here's argentina's lineup:

I'm totally going :-D

Anyone down to wager some imaginary dirty dollars (mega mega monies?) on the odds of a new setlist? This one's had play since 2011...

I would bet that it will be the same setlist. I don't think we'll see a new setlist until a new album comes out.

Re: u/w in southamerica

it seems underworld's show in peru is a no-go. i've been reading several tweets and peruvians are quite sad.

ThingInABook 10-29-2013 08:53 AM

Re: u/w in southamerica

according to a tweet, there'll be a stream for both festivals (arg and chl):

-creamfields chile will be streamed by radio pulso (http://radiopulso.cl/)
-and the stream of creamfields argentina will be transmitted by delta fm (http://fmdelta903.com/)

anyone recording? :) (cos i doubt i'll record anything during the 8 haha)

Re: u/w in southamerica

!!!! I will attempt. Got today and tomorrow off and will do some test runs. Worst case i got a soundcard that can record its own output just before it makes the digital to analog switch. Excited!

Re: u/w in southamerica

Any indications that there will be any video streams? Or is it just audio/radio?

ThingInABook 10-30-2013 06:26 AM

Re: u/w in southamerica

it seems both streams will be audio only. don't know if there'll be direct video streams. of course, and knowing the audience here, there'll be people recording the shows. so maybe those recordings will appear the week after the shows in youtube. (underworld's 2008 gig in chile is in youtube! i'm always amazed by those who go to a show just for recording it)

jetpig 10-31-2013 10:16 PM

Re: u/w in southamerica

radio pulse appears to have a standard radio stream for use with recording programs. delta fm uses a proprietary flash plugin, however the website dar.fm appears to be able to record it (and even schedule recordings),so both shows should be able to be recorded!

edit: Radio pulse direct stream address is: http://178.33.116.27:5282/;stream/1

day later edit: They go on 11:30-1 local time in argentina. Can't find timeslots for chile but suspect the same. chilean timezone is UTC -4 and argentinian is -3.

ThingInABook 11-05-2013 05:28 AM

Re: u/w in southamerica

the timeslot for chile is 22.30-00.00hrs. they're playing on the main stage. we're on daylight savings time, so prolly we're on a different timezone now.

Re: u/w in southamerica

HELLO PEOPLE THIS IS DEATH REPORTING I HAD A VERY HARD TIME GETTING OUT OF BED.

i had so much fun last night. somehow i got backstage access (don't ask - it's quite a long story, maybe i'll write about it in my tumblr) and manage to watch the show from the side of the stage. the equipment failed during the start of cowgirl, karl's desk wasn't working, but they managed to work it out into a monster rendition of cowgirl. i don't remember the exact order of the songs, but i think this was the setlist:

cowgirl/rez outro
pearls' girl (manic breakbeat version, prolly my fave from the night)
push upstairs improv (?) < i could hear the piano and guitar riff
everybody jack
ALAF
spikee
you do scribble
TMO
dark train (again problems with the mix)
king of snake
.nuxx

i did see a setlist from one of the light techs, who asked me 'are you an underworld fan?' (me wearing striped leggins and an OwB shirt) and then promtly went back and forth asking me in which song where they where haha. in the setlist there was an encore of jumbo and moaner, which weren't played.

some guard stole the setlist from me :(

somehow i missed meeting them, i did saw rick in the backstage area (he was wearing a white beanie hat and looking quite worried) so i didn't want to bother him with EXCUSE ME MR, ARE YOU UNDERWORLD? nonsense haha.

Any chance of a better resolution version of that pic?

Definitely recording the audio of that live stream.

yes! here: http://and-i-will-kiss.tumblr.com/#66508097156

i posted all of my pics there too.

hope you have better luck with the stream today!

Re: u/w in southamerica

Oh man, R and D look generally unenthusiastic in all those pics, musta been rough on them. Stream is streaming, generally infecting my PC with adware in attempts to record the video stream though...

jetpig 11-09-2013 07:48 PM

Re: u/w in southamerica

AAAANNnddd they're not streaming the main stage at all it seems -_-

*sigh* Time to go get a bucket of PC bleach to clean all this malware off my machine in my futile attempts to get the (NON UNDERWORLD) video stream recorded.

Re: u/w in southamerica

Clarification about last night: Was it Scribble (it's okay!) or You Do Scribble (instrumental breakbeat)?

ThingInABook 11-10-2013 05:39 AM

Re: u/w in southamerica

it was scribble, from barking (i noticed a little bit late that i posted 'you do scribble' which is the old version, without vocals)

jetpig 11-10-2013 03:15 PM

Re: u/w in southamerica

Figured, I miss 'You do...' I'd be thrilled if they could mix the two.

weird interesting version of born slippy for sure: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gllnOoxnyHg

ThingInABook 11-14-2013 05:34 AM

Re: u/w in southamerica

all the songs were quite breakbeat-ish. the only ones who were just like the usual flowy techno we're used to were ALAF and born slippy. scribble was somewhat just like the album version.

hey underworld, breakbeat album please!! :D

Holy crap! Rick brought back the 1996-2000 NUXX siren. I never thought he'd do that again.

Re: u/w in southamerica

So here's what I'd found as of 3 days ago, much more digging and filling out of this list will happen today as I've got it off. Gonna focus on BA more than Chile as the sound is awful in Chile.

I tried to organize by playlist, but I've not got it in front of me and so a few are probably switched

BA
REZ(ONATOR)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZXDfkVWtVd8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAonOBtZiJ4 (more reZonator)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLyuvW4i7AU
Cowgirl (regular lyrics)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlFG4Qtukfo

Pearl's girl
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1U2rGMu2ys

ALAF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KZHLTjNPxk

Spikee into TMO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLy1QogMJyA

TMO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0-holn0qcQ (LQ)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G66_SAmogO8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tss0dNV1DeY (VERY LQ, turn down your volume. The blown out recording makes it sound like an experiment in noise-dubstep and not immediately recognizable as TMO...)

NuNu Train
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIC7Mk0u_Io
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IRmtkVFJFc (loud, blown out)

KoS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYKI3CMX1NI

Nuxx (the rev up hitching is just amazing!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc33Xn4O4V4 (hq video)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HsakfEyJUXs (just mental)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_ewBcgZ3JU
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEq49ZFIkQY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Zw2N9UX0Gw
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc33Xn4O4V4 (epilepsy warning!)

CHILE (god the house sound really is awful)
ALAF
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=slbBh7_SU_M

KoS (where'd the music go?!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsz1mUHk6hE

Nuxx
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lpya4OLY53E (best quality)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3-uJ8HzRT0
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_IdVdLAzYo
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vtor5hoobp8
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gllnOoxnyHg (8:49)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MgVVyDlwWg8 (10:00)

note: There's quite a few professional cameras floating around in both these locales...

final edit: that's it for now, I'm certain i'm missing some, but this covers it pretty well. spikee got played both nights too, the one vid of it is atrocious.

Just fantastic!

How has it been two years since a soundboard? (youfest doesn't count due to awfulness)

Apparently the only song people wanted to see / record was Born Slippy. It's by far the most recorded song on YouTube.

It's a little sad to me, as it so thoroughly overshadows basically ANYTHING else they've done over the years. It just happened to be the right song at the right intersection of time and taste scoring the right movie.

No, Vive Latino in Mexico City this year had a webcast. I messed up the recording of it though, and I don't think anyone else recorded it.
