Batman Begins

Went to see this for my birthday and it was awesome. Blew away everything that came before and I'm gagging for the second part. Bale IS Batman.

Re: Batman Begins

A truly excellent movie - none of the silliness of the previous ones, and with some logical developments: how Batman got his powers, where his equipment comes from, the whole background to his parents' death... as realistic as a movie about a cartoon character can be, I guess.

Bale fits the role perfectly - can't wait until the next one too.

Re: Batman Begins

Haven't seen it yet but I've pretty much figured that Bale would easily dethrone the others who have played Batman over the years, especially after his performance in Equilibrium...

Can't wait to see this.

i exited the movie theatre, and my excitement grew for it gradually for days afterward until i HAD to see it again.

i expected nothing, and got a whole lot. loved it.

i loved it too, super cool flick!
The character of Crane was so good as well of seeing Gary Oldman as the good kid. Not to mention how hot is Christhian Bale.

The only thing i really didn't liked was the voice of Bruce Wayne as Batman.. it made me laugh a few times because it was so exagerated.

that thing was odd too, but then considering the story it was more likely Bruce's attempt to sound menacing.

It was stupid but...after a while it hits you he has to fake a voice or people would recognize him in real life. And the voice is not that bad just clearly fake.

I am with you Crane was so good, wathever that guy's name is fits perfectly!

Re: Batman Begins

i think Bale gulped down steaming hot coffee or a small piece of lava before delivering any lines as batman... i mean there's angry and gravelly and then there's Bale's performance.

I still like Burton's first movie but i'd put this above the next three. i especially liked the fear-induced imagery... but as always wish they'd pull the damn camera back during the action scenes. I really think some of those shots were just a guy throwing a black blanket against a boot or something then adding sound effects.

good movie though.

A good movie throughout.

I wanted to see some scenes, somehow of Bale speaking in the Patrick Bateman voice.

As someone else had already mentioned, it was good to see Scary Gary play a nice, calm, restrained person, doing good.

The first two Batman films rate a bit higher for me, but this one is right up there. One thing this film was lacking was a strong piece of music. Throughout the film there was really no identifiable piece of music that was comparable to the work of Danny Elfman did on the first two films.

Best. Superhero. Movie. Evar! :)

Seriously, this was a fantastic film. I've seen it twice already, and I want to see it again. Bale is perfect as Batman, Michael Cane as Alfred is pure genius, Dr. Crane was great, Liam Neeson was great, Morgan Freeman was a joy to watch, but Katie Holmes... She seemed rather weak for the role, but she didn't distract too much from the movie, so it's all right. I can't wait for the next one, and I think Jim Carrey would make a wicked Joker (yes, I know he already played the Riddler, but he's better suited for the Joker).

Re: Batman Begins

I scoffed at the previews, figuring the Batman franchise was beyond the grave. I was thoroughly impressed with how they reinvented it, sans the nintendo costumes and without Ahnuld belching out "Destroy the heroes!" and other one-liners so bad the writers needed to be taken back to the woodshed.

I think I might go see this one again...top-notch entertainment. I especially enjoyed it since Marvel finally got off their asses and got their comics the royal treatment in the movie studios...comics that are all about super-human powers. Batman, with *just* the tools that an ordinary guy would have (minus the bajillionmillion dollars, of course) proved that it is still possible to make a great movie and not have the mysterious ability to engulf yourself in flames and fly around to do so.

Having said that, I'm looking forward to FF.

And I agree with a previous post which suggested pulling the camera back during those action scenes. I could only say "well I THINK somebody is getting their ass handed to them" but had to wait for the dust to settle, really.

Batman is showing in IMAX in amsterdam in the same building as UW are playing in 2 weeks and it will be on.. i think i might do a double of UW and Batman. Already seen it at the cinema and downloaded bad qualityversions from the net and the OST but IMAX is something else.

as gambit said "Best. Superhero. Movie. Evar!"

Finally, a movie that got Batman right. I can't wait for the sequel.

Re: Batman Begins

I finally got to see this yesterday afternoon. (I know, I am behind on my movie going). I loved it, and thought it was one of the best comic book movies ever.

The only thing, and this isn't even movie related but more myrrh mindnumbing related, was that no one was sitting next to me. Because of this there was a hot girl behind me who kept putting her lovely bare feet over the seat and thus her knee down was about ten inches from my face. She had on some awesome smelling body fragrance that just happened to mingle with the air I was breathing. This distracted me from the movie every now and then, as I had idea's of all the things I could do to her starting with her foot and moving up her leg.

Aside from that, the movie was a blast!

I think that french actor who made the playboy character at Ocean's Twelve (the one doing capoeira to avoid the laser beams) would be an AWESOME joker, if only for the looks....

I loved this film. Me and my friend stopped making fun of the script lines when Batman called the bats and then got in the car leading the chase scene. I think no movie had make that effect on us in like 7 years....

Bale is a great Batman, but there's still something in Michael Keaton that makes him unbeatable. Maybe the fact he'd never look like a super hero (physically speaking)..

By far, the best suggestion I've heard for who should play the Joker is Crispin Glover. It's so perfect that no matter who it is I'll be disappointed if it's not him.

you guys spoiled a spoiler!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::(

Just saw Batmento today......shit film. Better than the Schuelmocker(Sp?) ones, but the first two are classic compared to this canned ham of a movie. Sure the visuals look nice and dark but (like someone said before) ZOOM OUT NOLAN!! Can't see anything....maybe he should stick to drama cause his action scenes are a bit too clusterfucked. Some unforgiveable plot/technical flaws bring it down further, but God forbid I spoil anything....;)

here's a spoiler:

Every Batman movie directed by it's different directors has had a different Batmobile and some form of chase scene to showoff the new batmobile. gasp! ;)
