Lowlands 1995 gig online...

On the Radio 3voo12 website's concert archive, you can find a realaudio stream of the 5DaysOff gig Underworld did at the HMH in Amsterdam, Holland.
1 hour 5 mins of magic vibes... Hear why they come back to holland so soon... TWICE!

It turns out that this is the 1995 Lowlands festival concert. Someone made a error..

Mine defaulted to Real Player, so you might need it.

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

Yes it's realplayer, and if you click on Karl it opens a popup with the player..

Well, if a link to the audio has been provided and the names of the tools needed to download the audio and convert the audio have been provided then I think my work is done here. Its an excellent set and I recommend that everyone download it. Its a 96kbps stereo 44.1khz 45mb real audio file and converted to 128kbps mp3 its about the same size.

How we can download it =) ?

Any way to record from a Mac? Looks like Streambox only works with Windows.

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

get streamboxvcr/ripper from here. its free/abandonware.

mac users can use streamripper X or use mplayer on the terminal command line. the syntax is:

% mplayer -dumpfile outputfile -dumpstream streamurl

Example:

% mplayer -dumpfile surestream.rm -dumpstream rtsp://streams.vpro.nl/pac01/24229811/surestream.rm

mplayer will work for linux users and windows (L)users too.

i hope this answers all your damn question. n00bs.

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

The easiest way to play .RM files on Windows is to install RealMediaSplitter 1.0.1.0 which can be found here at SourceForge.net.
Just
 • put RealMediaSplitter.ax (324kb) from the zipfile into (e.g.) the WINDOWS directory,
 • open a dosbox there,
 • type "regsvr32.exe RealMediaSplitter.ax".
Now any DirectShow capable program like MediaPlayer can open .RM/.RA files directly :)! Much better than installing RealPlayer or reencoding to .MP3 i reckon.

Especially RealPlayer bothers me! Asking for your email address before downloading; Installing 11MB of unnecessary crap; registering loads of filetypes which no one uses and only slows down Windows Explorer; trying to access the internet behind your back; REAL-ly not my thing..

spoonman 09-30-2005 02:05 AM

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

I confirm it's the 1995 Lowlands show! cause in this show they didn't play nuxx but only the original track with nuxx lyrics =)

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

For people that don't like realplayer, there is realalternative. The realaudio codec placed in windowsmediaplayer classic (aka version 6)

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

how do I open the stream (just to listen...not convert, encode, or whatever) using the VLC player? It is supposed to play most types of files (RP included)
but when I selected 'open stream', and put in the stream link, it does nothing.
:(

sorry, it was just a great pic :)

Let me summarize again (Windows):

To download the stream, get StreamboxVCR and paste the rtsp link in (link above)
To play realaudio files without RealPlayer, get RealAlternative (link also above, from lloyd) (this installs the RealAudio codecs and a great freeware player called MediaPlayerClassic)
To be able to play the mix in winamp or on your mp3 player you can convert it with Streambox Ripper (link above).

It really is that simple.

Note to Jose: StreamboxRipper 2.011 will not convert RealAudio files. The last version to be able to do it was v2.009. Its included in the StreamboxVCR download link I provided.

thx!!!:)

does anyone have the setlist???

holden 10-02-2005 09:20 AM

Re: 5DaysOff gig online...

Thanks, Stimpee...the Streambox Ripper worked great! Pretty decent sound for a 10 year old, streamed concert, too!

The setlist, more or less...Lots of improvisation!

-Leave Home remix 1/Spikee elements
- Confusion the Waitress lyrics (different than STITI)
- Born Slippy (with NUXX lyrics)
- Improv (with Spoonman lyrics)
- Mmm Skyscraper, i love you
- Cowgirl/Rez
- Dark and Long

Again, awesome gig with tons of surprise sounds...i'm surprised it resurfaced 10 years after, and apparently by mistake!

holden
