Frantic Assembly - Beautiful Burnout

Someone on the Graun gave me the heads up for this play which currently part of the Edinburgh Fringe and features Underworld music.

They are touring a little further afield, with dates in Sheffield and London.

I am not a boxing fan, but it might well be worth seeing just for the music content. :)

just. wow. i would love to see how they blend in the music. interesting that no official sources (karl's blog) noted about this play, esp. since it carries the name of a song.

It is a bit confusing. I'd like to see an Underworld musical, however.

might go and check it out if i can find the time. 90% of the stuff at the festival is dreadful, you have to wade through some amount of rubbish to find something worth while

for those of you NOT in Scotland - its on later this year in the '6th best boxing venue in the world' - York Hall in east London

as far as i know it contains music from OWB and the RRP's - there no new material, but it'll be worth the watch i'm sure...

here

seems a bit odd that the promoters are not mentioning the uw element...but hey

Re: Frantic Assembly - Beautiful Burnout

apparently the director of this boxing ballet has managed to slip in a couple of newer songs off Barking, including bird 1, ALAF and scribble...

since he got hold of the album from UW's ppl...

anyways... its won some major award in Edinburgh and has got a much longer run - so all is good despite the music being used without whole permission....

Beautiful Burnout Play

Just seen the play Beautiful Burnout at the tramway theatre in Glasgow and was absolutely blown away by it. I'd see it again right now. It's like Trainspotting in gloves.

Go see it if you get the chance, you'll love it.

Re: Frantic Assembly - Beautiful Burnout

just got back from today's show - smashingly beautiful work by the cast crew and creatives....afterwards we were walking down the street and the cast was hanging out the stage door, we stopped and chatted with them and my daughters told them they now aspire to drop the "f-bomb" with a great scottish accent - had them cracking up. too many highlights to go on about, but the jump rope scene with (rowla...i'm geting my tracks confused I think) was blistering. the ending bout with beautiful burnout was simply over the top in terms of production and beauty....a mesmerizing performance, really go catch it if you can
