For iPhones, the stream will work on either a 3G connection or WiFi, but you'll probably want to be on WiFi.

QuickTime troubleshooting tips on your computer, if you're having skipping/dropping/connecting problems with QuickTime streams, try this:

1. Open QuickTime in your Control Panel (System Preferences for Macs)
2. Click the Advanced tab
3. Change the Transport Setup to "Custom"
4. Choose "HTTP" and leave it on Port 80. Click OK.
5. Click OK again (on Windows).
6. Close QuickTime Player or your web browser, and relaunch it, and try the stream again.

Will this be repeated or stored somewhere? I'd get up at 5am to watch it, but I have work at 10am until 9pm and that may floor me a bit. Or a sound recording will do me as it'll be good quality and not off a phone!

Oh, very nice! Thanks for the alert, Bang! I really, really, really wanted to go to both this show *and* L.A., but I decided just to go to the latter since including Oakland just would have been too hairy. But now I can at least get a feel for what the Fox show'll be like, too. I'm just crossing my fingers that they don't play my tunes on Friday and then skip them on Saturday. Then again, whatever they play, I'm sure I'll be ecstatic. (I was at the Hollywood Bowl two years ago, as well.)

The broadcast starts at 11:00 pm CST. My flight lands in Chicago at 7:39 pm CST.
Add in immigration/customs, going to the car, and a 3 hour drive to Davenport Iowa
and it`s going to be close!:eek:

Have to ask my sister to have the computer fired up and ready for me when I get there!

What is the PRECISE time of the broadcast in Europe ? I mean, it's on the 7th august in OAKLAND, so on the 8th august at 5 in UK (or 6 in France) ?
I'll try to record the streaming but I don't know if it'll work well...if someone can do it, please don't hesitate...

Im fairly sure its 5am no? GMT goes forward one hour just like everywhere else in the northern Hemisphere i thought, so even though we have the time change here it is still the same time difference... and if the site is advertising GMT 5am +1 day then i will be connecting at 5am on the 8th of august.. just to be safe anyway.;)

Yannick! I haven't been here in a long time, so I didn't know whether you were still around, too! Good to "see" you again, man. We met once at the 2003 Coachella and you liked this custom UW shirt I had with "On Your Way To A New Tension Headache" on the back. (Still have the shirt, of course.)

Anyway, I'm very, very excited about tonight! Really wish I was going to be there live, but SF is just out of reach for me tonight. Plus, then I'd have to be driving all day tomorrow to be in time for the Hard Summer show tomorrow night in L.A.

As of last night, what I get when I click the link is a QuickTime stream that opens with a splashscreen announcing the gig, then a warped out sequence of colors over a live perfomance of "Cowgirl" gradually fading into Karl singing live. The whole thing lasts about five minutes, but tonight at 9, it should be replaced by the true, live gig, yeah?

Can someone confirm this for me?

C'mon, y'all! This is a rare UW weekend for those of us in the States! UW is very underappreciated here, so let's make up for that at these shows!

And since I realize UW has many fans, probably most of whom are, in fact, not in the U.S., I hope all of you have been or will be able to catch them on this tour. I hope there's no one feeling left out because UW's not getting to their corner of the globe, but I know it's probably the case somewhere. So, I promise I'll be thinking of you guys (I intend to stay sober), I love of all you fellow UW fans, and remember that Rick and Karl truly, truly appreciate us, as well. Hence, don't feel left out, for we're all lovely, lovely Dirts!

Hey guys quick question, im setting myself up here to try and record the show tonight on what equipment i have. I have a little problem.

Now im aware that there are probably programs and stuff which will record live feeds for you while you watch and you can get them full screen and stuff, but what i am doing is simply feeding what i can see on my computer into my HDD dvd recorder and recording it that way... the video feed we are going to be getting though is coming in QT format and is very small on the screen..

is there any way of viewing the feed in full screen? or at least 200% in order to maintain some quality to it?

Dont worry... i just put the feed url through my own Quicktime player and have in a screen on that now... fully adjustable.

I'm using Ambrosia WireTap to record it. Not sure about the full screen, but I'm sure that if you're capable of doing it it'll be fairly intuitive by the time the show starts.
